i know this is a stupid question for my age...im almost 16 and i got my period when i was 13....i've NEVER had it 2 months in a row...EVER...im irregular i know its normal but i can go 9 months without getting it...i havent gotten mine in 5 months and i was thinking if thats a sign im not fertile...im not trying to have a kid at this age or anything but i was just wondering because when i get older i want kids....im kinda scared to ask my mom 2 cuz she will be like OMG ur trying to get pregnant arent u!? which im not at all! is this normal missing it for 9 months at a time?
No, it is not normal to miss your period for 9 months at a time. Common causes for secondary amenorrhea include stress, hormonal imbalance, being underweight and extreme physical exertion. If you feel uncomfortable talking about this with your mom, talk to your school nurse about this. Your school nurse will contact your mom if there is a real problem.

have you tried using birth control to regulate your periods??? I used to have the same problem when I was about your age and they put me on birth control to regulate them I would say have your mom schedule a gynecological visit for you and go and see the doctor alone so you can discuss this problem.
