I also find Ozonol dabbed on after cool water. Doesn't always work but it does often help.

Going way back up to the top - I find I get it mostly after drinking. Thats the only connection I could consistantly make but after reading all this I'll have to watch my diet as well.

so glad I found this forum, this happens to me too!   I believe the cause (at least for me) is product.  If I lube up with shampoo or soap to masturbate, the tip of my urethra stings like a sunovabitch, especially the next few pees.  Also happened when we used honey-heat KY during sex, it was so bad I thought I was hitting her IUD or something real pointy, freaked me out.  After cumming (which stung bad, confusing me some), I went to pee and bled a little!  Stinging pee and pissing out the scab for about a day and a half, staining my briefs lightly afterwards.  Healed up fine, until I lubed up with body lotion in the shower, now it stings real bad again (particularly when pinching the tip and when starting to pee).
Mind you, I did spend a lot of the day in the sun and had a coupla glasses wine with supper, so maybe those affected PH or something as others have mentioned.  Still in my mind, after years of this occasional problem, I'm convinced its the (recurring poor choice of) lube substitute.

I am so unbelievably happy to find this board. I have tried everything and have seen specialists and they all say I am fine and with no STD's. I even had a camera shoved up there all the way and nothing strange was found. This makes so much sense now!!!  It rarely happens from sex but almost always from masterbation.  Chugging water afterwards helps a lot but it still takes a quite a while for the sensation to totally go away, this is the worst when you are trying to fall asleep. I am definitely going to try cranberry juice, it's possible that could work. Also, if it gets really bad you can take advil and it helps sometimes.

I would be very careful with this issue.  I get this all the time now when I masturbate for extended periods of time.  It has been bothering for years and now I have frequent urination all the time.  I am going to a urologist to see if I have a urethra stricture since they can be caused by repeated episodes of inflammation.  So if this is bothering you, dont ignore it! Find an answer!

I think it can be caused by a lot of things that will irritate the urithra.   The worst is when you are trying to sleep but the urge to pee will not go away.  Loading up on water will help, but it is going to keep you awake going pee all night.  I do think tose of you that said PH in the urin is key.  I've noticed that if my urin is more yellow from taking more vitamines or eating lower PH food like protein, breads, milk, etc, then it will set me up for this to happen just after sex or masterbation.  From what I know about PH, the best trick is to raise it fast is to drink lemon water.  Other than that, plan better and eat better.  Make sure to eat a lot of veggies during the day as they are the main source of higher PH (alkaline) foods.  I guess until our manufactured diet started in the last 50 years, we ate a ton of those veggies.

Well it seems to me that it's well established that this is a problem for us all. However, something that troubles me is that there seems to be no medical name for it as of yet. Why don't we assign it one so we can benefit the community with not only suggestions for identifying and solving it, but also maybe giving them a shorthand.
I'll post a few ideas below, people take your votes or post your own suggestions ^_^

Ignis Dolor (Fire Pain)
Igdolor
Igrethera (Fire + Urethra)

Dulcia Noceat (Sweets Pain)
Dulceat

Brittle-Sword Syndrome

Those are just a few. If you got something better (probably do) that rolls of the tongue, let us know. FOR THE SAKE OF SCIENCE!

I'm sitting on the toilet and the pain has started to subside, but I have to comment that i'm certainly experiencing the same symptoms as described above.

It happens about 10% of the time after masturbation/sex.

I don't believe it has such a PH basis as it does physical irritation to a sensitive tissue. It occurs for me if i'm not properly lubricated and during longer sessions.

The penis itself is built for this sort of stimulation but as far as I can tell, the urethra does not share this same durability.

Just my two cents

Many of the symptoms described here line up exactly with what happens to me. This usually only happens when: a) i have been drinking alcohol; and b) masturbate. It lasts about an hour and the pain is reduced if i pee. So to avoid this: hold off on masturbating after a night of drinking and or drink a lot of water in between alcoholic drinks.

This irritation is caused by mainly one thing. When men masturbate, we have a habit of pinching the base of the penis. This keeps more blood trapped inside of the penis, keeping it harder, which in turn increases pleasure. I found that if you relax while masturbating, and dont keep it rock hard, no irritation occurs. This explains why it mainly happens to guys who masturbate, not guys having sex. And yes, ALCOHOL & sugar do make it worse.

For me When the feeling starts and is at peak. Urinating at that time causes severe irritation and burning which is impossible to handle. I usually drink alot of water and wait for about 45-60 minutes to build up the urine and when the feeling to urinate is at its peak I then let go afterwards the feeling reduces and finally diminishes

The best piece of advice I could give for this problem is actually quite simple. I only experience the irritation if I’m flexing what I believe is my prostate muscle. You’ll know what I’m talking about by simply trying to pee, then try to stop in the middle of peeing. This muscle that’s used to do this, is what causes the irritation for me. If you masturbate, and flex your prostate muscle to make your penis become thicker and harder, you’ll probably experience this discomfort afterward. Especially when drinking alcohol. I recommend trying to train yourself to not flex during sex & or masturbation. Works great for me. I haven’t felt that discomfort in over a year since doing this.

Does anybody know how long a chemical urethral irritation lasts? Mine is lasting for 2 months already. Urethra was irritated with rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide (I applied them just once).

Hi, This is very interesting to me. I was getting up four times a night with what I call a urethral irritation. ie not a full bladder. Not all the time but fairly regularly. Tthe solution was to stop drinking wine which was too hard to sustain. I have since discovered that drinking preservative free wine and it has freed me from this wretched condition. I now drink 1/2 a bottle of red preservative free wine a night with my wife and get up to pee once a night on average. I should mention as a child I had sensitivity to the sulphur based preservatives they used to lace sausages with, developing a slightly asthmatic queeze after eating them. Other information about me I am Caucasian and 63 years of age, live in Australia and for the past three years have avoid eating too many carbohydrate and sugar rich foods. I weigh 82 kg and I’m 5 ft 10 inch’s or around 175 cm tall. So not overweight having lost 9 kgs over 3 month in 2018 through practicing a low carb diet. And I’m double vaccinated!

Hope that Helps

Try Preservative Free Wines. It would appear to be the answer for me over the last three months. I now drink red wine and get a good night sleep.
