I had cough that didn’t respond on herbal remedies that are commonly used to treat it. It developed into chronic form and I actually couldn’t get it in connection with lung’s infection. I did several exams and it has shown to be gerd, which has manifested with cough because of irritation of esophagus. I got axiphex and have to take it for 6 weeks. I’ve been on it for a week with poorly detectable results. I had more problems with cough than with indigestion. Is axiphex proper medication for me?

Aciphex inhibits acid production in stomach. Excessive acid production really can cause chronic cough that has nothing with lungs’ infection. That cough really does not respond on syrups based on ivy or thymi extracts because has different origin. I was on aciphex for 8 weeks because of duodenal ulcer. It relieved me stomach indigestion, but I had mild headache during whole 8 weeks. So, it takes a while for results of aciphex to be visible.
