Yeah!!!!... I am not going crazy... I got bad feelings after starting Dr Furhman's diet that eventually went away. My Dr took extensive blood test and gave me some D3 and minerals with my diet. I was actually feeling better and back to playing racquetball. The reason I started all this was due to high blood pressure. I was not over weight but I was eating the wrong foods. Blood pressure became stable and I got off the medication which I was told by another Dr I had to take for the rest of my life. I then started drinking green tea and began feeling horrible so I stopped and the symptoms stop. I then tried white tea with no side effects but after a few days I started getting horrible headaches and anxiety attacks. I eliminated everything I thought was causing the problem and had a cup of the white tea this morning and whammm... headache. After reading your notes and understanding what might be going on I noticed that although the headaches are still bad the anxiety is much better which in itself helped with the severity of the headaches so thanks for those of you that wrote about this. I am going to continue the tea for a few more days but drink smaller amounts and increase as the symptoms subside. I will post again in a few days so others may know my results. I have been eating years of bad food so in theory detoxing makes sense and I am willing under Dr's care to try it a little longer. I have an excellent Dr who supports diet and nutrition over medication.

I am replying to this because of the person who suggested looking into hypertension and the other people who said they have high blood pressure -

I actually have LOW blood pressure (my doctor told me to eat more salt) and a vegetarian diet, and I found this thread because I noticed I had a migraine on the top of my head yesterday, and again today - right after drinking green tea. I am a huge tea fan but I had stopped drinking it for a while - no headaches. The first day I started again I got a headache and I just realized the correlation today.

The person who suggested tannins might be on to something, if that is true that green tea has a higher amount than black or white.

Otherwise, so relieved this isn't just me.

I have been a daily green tea drinker for years. Just recently it has started giving me a bad headache and nausea. I know it doesn't have anything to do with the caffeine because I tried decaf green tee and got the same terrible headache. I don't believe it's the toxins leaving my body cause this has never happened until recently and I have used green tea for years. I'm just going to stop drinking it.

Was wondering from past 1 week as to why this sudden headache. Felt like someone was hammering my head from both sides. I have been consuming green tea for the last couple of weeks.

Thanks a lot for this post.

I have been having green tea for over a year now.. 1st 5 or 6 months was good and helped me maintain a good diet.. i ate everything and my belly stayed small and normal and i started recomending it to all until recently since last few months i started having this weird kind of migraine headaches (only the left side of my head and  a small portion of the back side of my head also felt heave.. i wont call it headaches but very uncomfortable and heave and throbbing at times.. i kinda thought it was the green tea or maybe the small piece lemon which i sqeeze in my cup so could be the lemon affect or the green tea.. i only have 3 or 4 cups a day and love and enjoy the taste of green tea but i think i will quit green tea for a while or maybe try the frsh original green leafy tea which is without the tea bags.. anyway goodluck to all and get well soon.

Oh my gosh! I did the same thing and started taking green tea pills b/c they are supposed to be SOOOOO good for you. I suffer from migraines anyway, but I swore they were making it worse. I also almost gave up having sushi at nobu because it seemed to give me headaches. I thought it was the soy sauce, maybe. then I thought...omg, the green tea! So I have been feeling ok and just yesterday i had a huge cup of matcha...super great quality powder made the traditional way. I loaded up on it and drank two huge cups...as soon as i was finished with it, the migraine started creeping in. Today, full blown migraine! ugh. It really stinks when it is self inflicted, eh? how stupid. But I LOVE green tea. Absolutely NOT worth it though. never again. bummer.

Same exact location of the headache for me as well. Thats crazy, I've googled to find explanations but nothing. I'd really like to keep going as it has been helping with a smaller belly, just like you said BUT if its not a positively brought on headache such as (detoxifying) I agree with you and will be ending my run with the bags and seeking out the leaves.
