I agree with you. My aunt, my sister and her son (my nephew) all passed away of acute myloid leukemia. All in their early 20's.

Yeah I agree. Both my grandparents, an uncle and great aunt have blood cancers. They grew up in a small village that experienced what guest is describing on your rural road (everyone coming down sick). Ours is from a cosmetic company that dumped chemicals into the water, along with the largest landfill (incineration usage) in the region on the outskirt of town. I strongly believe that they have contributed to why my family is sick but it wasn't until I learned about my great grandmother's hometown in Italy that put the pieces together. Taranto, Italy (population around 200 thousand) is the 3rd most polluted city in the world producing 92% of Italy's dioxin emissions- 8.8% of all Europe's dioxin combined.. as well as 42% of Italy's benzene production. Between 1994-2005 it saw an increase in blood cancers by 30-40%. They are contributing it to the dioxin which builds up over time and can last up to 11 years in the fatty tissue of those exposed. -Which in the case of pregnancy can be passed to the fetus.. taking the role of what looks like an inherited cancer. Not that I disagree with the idea that it can be genetic.. but yeah.

My mother was diagnosed with chronic leukemia in July and after only one treatment that seemed to go well she became very ill and passed away in early September. It just seems like a nightmare because of how fast she went downhill. I was also concerned as if I should be checked for it if it is hereditary as I am a 45 year old male. My mom was 69

My sister was diagnosed at 51 with AML and then my brother at age 57. They both passed Mt sister 131 days and my brother 113 days. There were only 3 of us. So wouldn't my risk be pretty high. ?

Thank you so much. My dad had leukemia at a young age. I was wondering if this makes me have an increased risk. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Deal with it please, my mom ignored it until it was too late. She could have been in remission if it was caught sooner. God speed.

It is hereditary, however that isnt common. My husband died of ALL then our son contracted the disease. The hospital were most interested in the case as it was only the 7th case of father passes the disease to son that they had heard of at that time.(2004)

My mum was diagnosed with AML in November 2016 and died 3 weeks to the day of diagnosis. It was actually complications from the chemo that killed her ( she developed pneumonia and didnt recover ) I am also worried and it being hereditary as my mother was one of 9 siblings. Three including my mother died from AML. My aunt at 59, My mother at 67 and my uncle at 72
