Hi, my husband is fighting non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma for a year now and it’s been tougher than words can describe. In the last month or two we were actually getting hopeful that his treatment worked and cancer is finally subsiding, but then night after night in a row he started getting fever, small, but alarming. Our oncologist told us that he’s having tumor fever and he did order several tests to see if the infection was causing the fever, but the results were all clear. That’s why I turned to internet to find out what tumor fever actually is, and I’m even more confused now because some people say it’s a good sign, that the fever is caused by toxins released from dying tumor cells, while others are not optimistic at all. We’ll of course continue notifying our oncologist, but any info on what’s going on would be greatly appreciated.
