It is. I've had the very same issues and have been diagnosed with systemic Lupus. Sun brings on the sores. Coço butter soothes the burn. Hope that helps. ND do go to the Dr. With treatment it can go away.

Cold sores are caused by the herpes virus simplex 1. A very large amount of the population has it and doesn't even know it because they're never tested. This is different from genital herpes as that is simplex 2 There are multiple forms of the disease. That came straight from my dr. If it doesn't respond to valtrex, then it's not a cold sore. The original post however doesn't sound to me like cold sores.

I Anna.... I have had a skin disorder much like this for over 20 years. I am on Sertraline, and have been for several years. Nothing changed with my skin problem when I started taking the anti-depressant. I'm not saying that the drug is NOT the problem, but with me it made no difference. I have never really been able to tell if things get worse with stress....but everyone seems to think it is. Mine actually gets worse a day AFTER I take a shower (I was told not to take a shower every day because of my dry skin). My theory is that I "wake my skin up" when I shower.... lol. Nothing any dermatologist has ever given me has worked, so I go it alone and make the best of it. I prefer the colder months because I can wear long sleeves and cover my spots/band-aids. It has gotten almost to the point where I don't worry too much about what people think anymore when they see my skin. It is what it is. If I have to, I am ready to tell anyone that they CAN'T catch it from me! Good luck! I honestly know how you feel!

Mine appeared right after cleaning and extremely dirty apartment too. It was 2 years ago and I am currently almost bedridden from the sores and pain. I have tried everything you can think of with supervision of a dermologist. He is at a loss as to what the diagnosis is. Did you find any help or relief?

I have been dealing with these "sores" for 6 months and believe me when I say I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of them! Here's the only thing I have found that seems to be working: sulfur usp sublimed powder (buy at a pharmacy) mixed with Ivarest cream (bought at a dollar store and contains calamine, benzyl alcohol, and diphenhydramine hydrochloride) . I make a paste and apply twice daily. Leave alone and cover with bandaids. I also bathe with Epsom salts in my bath water. This is the closest they have been to being healed. Hope this helps!

I was in my garden and felt a slight stinging, thought I had brushed against a thorny weed. Days later had small, circular blisters and redness, looked like 7 red bites or stings in a circle. Didn't itch much, but a week later the red dots turned to purple ovals under the skin. Later came the hard, yellow "scabs", but they were deep and left craters when picked off. Skin is hard around the scabs, and I'm going to a dermatologist to see if they can help. Another doctor (not a dermatologist) told me I had shingles, which made no sense ( I have no pain, it's not spreading, I got it in the garden, etc). What in heck do I have?

OMG..this sounds just like what I have!!! I have been to about 5 different dermatologists who couldn't figure it out. I noticed when I was on a diet, they would go away....so when I was NOT on a diet & ate sugar they would all appear again... They are painful... and I have scars all over from them. How did I get these?

Good description of how to eliminate these pesky skin invaders. What upsets me is even when you think you have squeezed what you think is every last seed out of these sores, two days later it regenerates. I've had these come and go for 25 years, no skin doctor yet has a clue. The closest thing they remind me of is a plantar wart but totally different, yet they stick around like one. I've had them on my arms race and neck, the only way the die is active removal with some sort of cream or peroxide, Wish there was something to make them go away and not return

Been dealing with this for 10 years. I'm on my 5th dermatologist and here's what she thinks, folliculitis that gets infected by scratching/picking. Prescribed antibiotics for 2 months, benzefoam ultra and luxamend wound cream . Willing to try, nothing else has worked. She also said that the crater scars can be improved with expensive treatment but the issue with white scars is you can't get pigment back. I'll update noting the medications and how it works for the followers that are truly suffering with this condition without a name. Marie

Does anyone even have the slightest notion that it can be meiosis. The insect forms from pauses under the skin, beaks out and will spread if not careful of the microscopic cells within. Patients who have used Ivermectin treatments have had good results. This can be an infectious disease more often involving immune disorders that cannot fight off the infection fully. Consult a infectious disease doctor and demand evidence examined by cell biologist.

I was in the medical field for 25 yrs and dealt with surgical wounds, I had seen my share of infections. Basic rule, keep clean & dry. Nov 2012 I started to feel little itchy bumps under my skin, as soon as I scratched it they broke open & immediately looked infected. I went to 3 dermatologist, 4 internal medicine & 2 infectious ds doctors all gave me a different diagnosis, strangely only one culturedit and said it didn’t have bacteria. He first told me it was MRSA, which I knew it wasn’t since there is 4 people in my house and not one other person even my husband had the condition. I would get white cores under a crusty scab, and sometimes a large one in the center that I would remove and it bled heavy but would stop almost as soon as it started. No matter what size the wound was it left a hyperpigmentated scar, for 5 years I went over and over the internet, been on antibiotics, steroids, topical, etc. I noticed with the otc antifungal it made the wound look oozy but I would wipe it off, reapply and cover w a bandaid. The next doctor I had seen said it wasn’t a fungus, and put me on a penicillin and prescribed topical which made it worse. This may sound odd, but after ppl told me I had mites, MRSA,etc I decided to return to an antifungal the strongest one I could buy without a prescription. I bought Monistat, I took a shower and with a pumice stone I gently rubbed the wound to remove the white cores, and then used a qtip with peroxide. It did burn but any white dots I missed would show so I wiped them off w a cloth. I then applied the monistat and covered it w a bandaid. I did not remove for approx 18 hrs but when I did, every sore from my chin, back, legs, and arm were scabbed normally and only one had 2 white cores in it. It was a fairly new wound but I just repeated the treatment. Although FINALLY all my wounds are closed, I still gently use the pumice stone to lighten the pigmentation and lightly rub monistat over it, and it has been my first month in 5 yrs without an open wound. I was accused of picking my skin spreading it, stress, depression, I thought I was going crazy, this may not be your cure but keep trying take note of what helps, what doesn’t and good luck

I have these open sores with 'seeds' in them. They are not bumps, but craters. They always stay weepy and the edges are inflamed. I can dig around inside the crater and I find little rubbery seeds that are anchored inside the crater. Sometimes there are 2 sometimes 4 or 5. They are extremely difficult to remove, but if I can get ahold of one with a tweezers, I can pull it and if I'm lucky, the entire thing will pop out. It leaves a hole inside the crater and bleeds like crazy, but once it's out, then it can heal. The problem is, if there are and seeds left inside the crater, it will not scab over. They ALL have to be removed in order to heal. I've had some craters for months. I've tried antibiotics (doxycyclen and reflex), topical rx medication (ivermectin, Cylacen, Luxamend) as well as tons of OTC treatments. Nothing worked. Out of sheer deperation and depression, Ione night tried tea tree oil mixed with water in a 50/50 solution. I got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night and checked on my face (as I always do) and to my surprise, the inflammation around the perimeter was gone. I applied the mixture again and subsequently two more times before dawn. I was amazed at my results. It was actually starting to heal. I am 4 days in to using the tea tree oil and my face looks better than it has in months. This WORKS. Try it. It's worth the $20.
