Try AmLactin from the pharmacy...no prescription needed.  It exfoliates and moisturizes.  It is great stuff.

I have been doing heavy research and skin examinations on this exact problem for the last 6 months., as I started noticing these issues on my own skin. I have never spoken to anyone of my problem due to the humiliating fact of not knowing what it could be.

I also have had this and still do.I am a R N and have tried lots of remedies.I have Diabetes.I have red sores breakout on face, chin,Rt forearm, shoulders and back and buttocks.I have lots of pictures.I have seen 4 doctors.Dermatologist told me it was caused by Anxiety and Depression.Have suffered with this for 9 mos.One Dr said it was mites.Treated with Permethrin, didn't work, just spread. One treated me with Kenalog Injection and Bethapredisone ointment.I have used Oatmeal Baths and soap.Have been sitting in sun 15-30 mins in Ky. On sunny days. Now taking Acyclovir 800 mg.Seems to be healing.Sores form scab. When removed bleed and drain serosangunous fluid. Will not heal.Have seeds in them like a grain of sand.Won't stop hurting till seed is out. Some are very deep like on nerves..Sores leave brown scars. No Dr has done a scrapping or culture. They look @ me like I don't know what I am talking about.I don't know for sure I am getting better.

I HAVE HAD THIS FOR ALMOST 5 YEARS. I totally understand what you are going through.. have you had any success? Has ANYONE had any success in treating??? I have countless scars that are indented and won't tan. Still getting sores but not as many as in the past. My derm said that it was an allergy to black or dark fabric dye. Have tried every cream and medication with no luck.
I am going to try the sheetrock chalk.

okay I AM NOT SURE IF I HAVE WHAT YOU ALL HAVE BUT I WAS THINKING DEFINITELY FUNGAL IN NATURE, LIKE RINGWORM AND STAPH COMBINATION. People can have combos on things ya know! Don't rule that out...I was loosing my hair, I had rashes on my arms and feet and stomach etc. I had the same described scaly patches which start as a red bump, never heal and can be exfoliated...Well. I went to an infectious disease doctor and he slapped me on IV Levoquin (for a month) for the Staph and I begged for Ictraconazole for the Fungus and finally got it. If I had not got rx I would probably died from septicemia it was so bad. I am still on the pills (both) and magic mouthwash too for Candida to boot. I was misdiagnosed by many doctors. I'm making some headway. I like that we are attacking this on three prongs not just a linear fashion like most average practitioners would do. Lamisil did not work. I use antifungal ointment with a waterproof band aid on it over night and it will diminish in two or three days. I also have used Am Lac cream too. Dermarest is a little more gentle. The doctor gave me Nystatin creams and Chlorotrimsole-betamethazone cream. Holding cream on the wound with a band aid has worked best for me. Where white socks and besure to wash all linens and clothes in hot water , preferably with bleach. I looked up another thing. Water Vinegar alcohol and salt is a good rinse. Also a soloution of Listerine worked too. I did 50-50. I been fighting it for the past 16 years. But it reached a head this year. My skin is looking better but it was so slow to heal. I also was told I had cellulitis. Up to this point I was trying to treat myself at the point of cellulitis my life became endangered! There are 300 different fungi that can infect a human. Ringworm is only one of them. I'm an ex RN. I highly recommend that you see an infectious doctor. rashes that will not go away can be fatal. They are beyond the grasp of the dermatologist by far. The infectious guy was the only one who actually treated me. Everyone else was just going "duh"!!!

We and others (people involved in the actual clean-up of the water and shoreline) in our area, the Gulf Coast (near the oil spill) have these same symptoms. We really can't get a clear answer on what this is. Some "doctors" , health professionals and the cdc skirt the issue and say it could be some form of chlor-acne.

I have it too and not properly diagnosed yet but look up dermatitis herpetiformis. It comes from possibly being celiac which I do have and been diagnosed.
