I have been taking Juice Plus since 1999. I am wondering if I need to take additional calcium, iron, etc?
Absolutely. It does not contain enough of either!
Well as you know taking Juice Plus helps you bridge the gap between what should eat and what you actually eat everyday. it is not a substitute for eating fruits and vegetables. Your just adding to your everyday diet.

of course, i suppose the other way you could have done it is to continue taking the supplements you were already taking, and *add* the JP to those, and see if you noticed any difference. I'm guessing that you experienced this lack of energy because the package of supplements you were taking previously addressed a much wider range of nutrition than what JP does, so one wouldn't expect to cancel all those and have JP fill in all those missing nutrients. There are many more nutrients needed by the human body than what JP provides, and perhaps you went off those when you cancelled your previous supplements.

As I understand, J+ helps with a modern diet and modern lifestyle, some of the products are labelled 'complete', but are not intended long term total replacements.

I have some friends selling J+ and I bought some to take. I took it for a while but did not feel any difference. On the other hand I didn't expect to. I have a high quality juicer and drink a lot of organic juice, I also have a high quality blender and make a number of green drinks. I don't think the stuff is bad, just doesn't do anything for me. I take it with me for when I don't have access to fresh vegetables. Some of the claims I think are ridiculous and have to be a placebo effect. I mean think about it. At it’s very best, it still isn’t the real thing unprocessed. So everything J+ does, the plants themselves will do better. I think that is why I don’t feel any affects. Funny though, I don’t hear of any farmers claiming that if I buy their product I will cure every possible ill I have. Again, not knocking the product per say, I use it at times. It’s the testimonies that throw me. I just don’t see why anyone would expect a pill made of processed vegetables would be better than the vegetables themselves. At least when I eat and drink the real thing I am no longer hungry, my belly is full. If I took J+ I still have to eat something and if it isn’t stuff that is good for me then I’m not helping myself. And if what I eat is good for me, then I probably don’t need the supplement all that much. Just my thoughts.

REALLY expensive powdered fruit and veggies! Also, the claim is these are "vine ripened", organically grown (when you listen to distributors) , and there are all of these supposed studies.
-NSA will not let its "distributors" sell online, but now are selling online in competition with their own zealots.
-please cite an actual conclusive clinical study, as I can not find any. The juice Plus website mentions all kinds of journals, schools, and "ongoing studies", but cites not one???? Where are they???
-They oddly claim on their web site they are not a multi-level marketing company??? That is blatantly false.

Well, at least they're mostly fruit and veggies, rather than chemicals. I'm still not a distributor, but I've seen some of the sound lifestyle info they compile, to help the victims of junk food's omnipresent and slick corporate advertising. It's not so expensive to try - if it doesn't work for you, don't buy it.

Hi ive seen a massive explosion of interest in Juice plus amongst my friends and I am shocked at the sales pitches I am seeing. Im suprised the NHS havent stopped medical training and replaced it with a juice plus capsule. Its basically a fruit and veg supplement that give you a boost, but its pitched as a life saving cure for any ailment. More energy, better looking, I dont even need sleep since I started with juice plus. I dont mind the product, but please sell it for what it is a over priced fad diet. If you want to lose weight take it, im pretty sure it works. Infact if you follow any mainstream diet properly you will lose weight. When i work with clients im more concerned with what happens when they stop focusing on their chosen diet be it Juice plus, Herbalife etc. I have been a Personal trainer/ Fitness Instructor for 15 years and I know that having boundless amounts of energy is not possible if you are losing 8lb a week. If you want to lose weight for life do a little research and calorie count. It is not just about the weight coming off, but also about teaching yourself how big an actually meal should be. We are creature of habit and teaching ourself good habits by using methods such as calorie counting we can improve our health. Before I finish I would like to say again I have no problem with people taking Juice Plus just the way in which it is marketed.

After seeing JP advertised at a health fair, I began taking it about ten years ago, because they had a special offer at that time, offering it free for chileren under 18. My granddaughter was living with me at that time,so I got it primarily for her. I didn't need to lose weight, and I can't tell that it actually has made a difference in my energy level. The primary reason that I continue taking it is that I have not been sick with the usual "winter colds" or sinus infections during all the years I've taken it. When friends ask me how I stay well year round, I just attribute it to JP. I'm 80 years old, and since I'm never sick while taking it, I'm afraid to stop. Right or wrong, I'm sticking with it

It doesn't sound like a single person on this post has read any of the studies supporting or decrying juice+. The incredible biased shown by the proponents and opponents lends credibility to the claims that distributors of this product probably go overboard to the point that they jeopardize their personal relationships.
I don't take juice+ specifically because of the effect of the company's marketing practices. A long time friend started trying to convince me to take it because of my poor diet. I pushed back and pushed back. After research I found a similar product that was about comparable in price. I started taking that and improved my diet. I told my friend that I opted against juice+, but understood her concerns about my health and took proactive steps to fix it. I also told her that I wasn't going to do juice+ because I am morally opposed to the marketing practices, which can seriously impair personal relationships. She agreed and said she was glad I'm at least taking the other stuff. Not two days later, she was back at trying to convince me to get on juice+, only this time the sales pitch was that she was just helping another friend who only distributes to subsidize the cost of providing it to her young children and grandparents ("buy juice+ because it is the moral thing to do").
I will never take juice+, so I will never know whether or not it is actually good for you. By slightly modifying my diet and taking a comparable supplement, I will say that I do feel a tad bit healthier. I don't know whether it is a placebo effect or whether there is actually some merit to these type of supplements.
However, the decision to take juice+ or not will not affect your thetan count, which I think we can all agree is the most important thing we must consider about our health and well being.
