God if I had seen these threads 3 days ago I would have run a mile, as it is im now 3 days in

The initial injection had been my biggest fear, it wasnt TOO bad and I dealt with it simply by breathing through it, The right testicle I didnt feel a thing when the Vas Deferens was cut and cauterised, then came the left, holy moly mary mother of god did that ever hurt, the surgeon realised I was feeling pain and "topped up" the anaesthetic but I simply wouldnt go numb, I felt him clamp, cut and cauterise the vas deferens on that side and could feel a tugging sensation in the left side of my stomach.

Got through it, got home and have rested for 2 days, my right testicle is absolutely fine, no pain whatsoever but the lft testicle is black and swollen and I STILL have a pain in my stomach on the left side.

The reasons for me having the snip werent quite as simple as "we dont want anymore kids" we do but my wifes condition is such that it is simply too dangerous for her to have anymore (we have a 15 month old daughter and my wife is a diabetic and has suffered numerous strokes since my daughter was born) so rather than put my wife through a big hysterectomy op I opted to have the simple vasectomy done,

Im not sure how I feel now to be honest, havent masturbated or had sex yet (only 3 days in remember) but I feel like im less of a man now somehow, I guess im worried that evrything still works down there at the moment and time will tell.

It was a good 90 days before I had my first day where I did not notice anything. Not all is well15 months later, sometimes it hurts, like a dull throbbing headache for short periods of time, 1-10 min here & there. Am I happy with the result, no, but from what I've read, it could have ended up much worse. I can run, jump and the like (after 90 days). The dull pain is never present for very long, the "lumps" on each side are from what I assume to be an over abundance of scar tissue. I knew a guy at the bar the same day & then hauling loads of mulch the following day with no side affects. Then again, there is us...... What ya going to do but sit & wait it out, nothing. Try not to worry, (I know easier said than done), but grab some pain killers if you've got to get something done. It will make the "pulling" sensation much less noticable. My junk will never be the same but there's no going back now.  I never had a hematoma either.

ok im almost 2 weeks post op now, still pop the odd painkiller but its settling down now, its taken alot of rest and alot of pain killers.

Its a sensitive area and you have GOT to rest, that said I did everything by the book, rested up for 48 hours and kept the paracetemol going every 4 hours during that time and for a couple of days afterwards but still ended up needing stronger pain relief for a couple of days. Im ALMOST back to normal now.

According to the doc the lumps should go in 4 - 6 weeks and the pain should be gone in 6-8 days, I was told this after I went back to the clinic after I was convinced that things werent right (see my last post).

Being told that AFTER the event is a far cry from what they tell you before hand and I think that is wrong.

I would urge anyone considering a vasectomy to look into it very carefully.

Boys On day 9..... Had to take an ambulance the night of the procedure. I had a huge black sac full of blood and my ass and balls are still black and blue...... Slowly getting better but getting around on crutches. I had about 3 - 4 beer the night before. Stupid move, that might have contributed to the blood thinning and excessive bleeding. Morphine for 2 days after emerge Now naproxen and Tylenol

I had a vasectomy eight days ago and suffered a hematoma and had a fair amount to pain. The hematoma has almost resolved itself but I am left with a lot of pain in my testicles and a feeling I would liken to a pulled muscle above my scrotum. Also, there is a large lump, about the size of a golf ball above my testicle. Has anyone had a similar experience? What can I do?

I am on my fourth day and I am having similar symptoms. Whenever I walk around my I feel some pain in my balls, otherwise no pain at all.
I have no lump but my testicles are swollen, about the size of an orange. Also, it is bruised.

had mine done three wks ago. was doing pretty good, had a little lump above my testes. Went to work on the fifteenth day, worked 2 days and shouldnt have. Pretty much have been on the couch since. right teste is double the size as my left and i have a pretty good size lump above it. Hurts like heck. sharp pains up the side of my legs and my stomach. Word of advice we do not all heal the same. Do what your body tells u to do. Trust me your not being a puss. I work road construction and that is what i thought. i can hang. thought wrong, now i am paying for it.

2 weeks out.

I rested for two days, I've and lortab 10.

5 days after I moved into a new house. All day of lifting boxes I was swollen bad and black as blue. It has since gone down. Still normal bruising.

I do have a hard knot above the right nut. That and the groin muscle pain are
About it. Hope all feels better soon. It gets worse after working all day.

I'm assuming the knot is just scar tissue?

I got clipped on 6-1-12. Today is 6/21/12. I had a hematoma and softball sized testicles. After nearly 3 weeks, my left nut is still the size of a golf ball. The right is normal. I do not have much pain, but I do want the left to be normal again. I'm not sure if I should go back to doctor or wait a couple of more weeks.

I got mine done 2 years ago and took a little over a year to be pain free. However, 2 weeks ago I was at work and pain slowly started coming back. Now I have swollen golf ball sized lump on top of my right nut.

Looking back, I should have just stuck with condoms.

Day 6 here.  Nothing out of the ordinary during the procedure.  Single hole, right side hurt like a crazy, left side was pretty mild.

Post op, bruising on sack, started the first night, and seemed to have peaked on night 4.  Today, day 6, bruising all over is nearly back to normal color.  My only concern is a a small gumball size lump above my right testicle.  Its like the its the top part of the vas is causing a hematoma, or its curled up or something.

Pain is almost zero.  Nothing strange, just soreness from the operation, cant run up a flight of stairs, but never did affect the way i walk or anything like that.
