Day 9 and I have the same hard mass above my right nut others have desribed. It is only painful if squeezed slightly. My right testicle is fine but my left is still a little sore. It took me about 4 days before I got back to work but I was still in pain for a few days. I have worn tighter fitting underwear up until yesterday when I threw on boxers and let the boys hang. It was pretty uncomfortable so I am back to briefs today. It hasn't been as painful as some other guys mentioned but my impression prior to the vasectomy was a couple of days and I would be right as rain...not the case. I am probably at 90% back to normal but I am still a little weary that sex might make me feel like I got kicked in the junk again based on the physicality of it. I may give it a few more days. Ejaculating on my own at this point (while not preferable) is not painful.

Been exactly 1 month since my V. Been in low to moderate discomfort ever since with occasional pain. Been on pain killers ever since as well. Testies are very sore to touch usually. DOn't really know what to think or do anymore. All I can say is I'm mentally not coping well due to all the what-ifs. I recently discovered a walnut sized lump above my left testicle. I would say this is one of the worst months of my life. Guess there's nothing to do now but wait for recovery.

I had a vascectomy 4 weeks ago. The pain was intense for around 10 days as if i had been kicked in the balls but it was just that, pain from surgery. It eased up gradually. Then as of yesterday i noticed above my left ball, on the incision scar going inwards towards my penis swelled up about an extra half its normal size, was red, very sore & was slowly leaking clear fluid. I called a medical hotline & am seeing my doctor today. I had no fever or bleeding from anywhere down there which was apparently a good sign Best case senario from looking up symptoms online... i need anti biotics, anti inflammitory pills & rest. worst case...surgery again , maybe draining it (which can lead to more problems) & absolute worst cancer (which i highly doubt) It hurts & isnt pretty but im hopeful that i can heal without injections, surgery, draining it or anything complicated. Its just annoying & slows down normal simple tasks, most of us guys have people depending on us & need to be physically capable of doing what we need to. Best of luck & hope this helped.

As promised. Everything is fine. Stiches healed well. Sometimes hurts but everything is going well. Dont loose the hope. I followed all the instructions. Took Arnica for healing and bruising. Rested well. Able to do everything now and ejaculations are even better than before. It is worth it 100% but it need to be well thoughtout choice and go to a trusted place to do it. Dont freak out after reading this forum. I did, but no worries. check twice, rest well. It is going to be painful but it is worth it at the end if the vasectomy is right choice for you and your family. Good luck!

Like everyone else - so glad I found this AFTER getting the procedure.  Of course I found it by knowing what to type in a search engine.  2 weeks after procedure it's like I've got a very painful 3rd testicle and a pulled groin muscle so walk with a limp.  From reading this I'm sooo looking forward to 3-6 months of pain and deformation.

I had my vasectomy in September of last year, 2013. Developed a hemota on right side about the size of a small to medium walnut about a week after surgery. Was in a lot of discomfort and had no interest in sex which put me into an anxeity tailspin. Convinced myself I was impotent and would need to start taking Viagra and Cialis for the rest of my life. I read a lot of posts and yes it took every bit of 3 months for the hemato to disolve. It took at least 8 weeks before I could notice an appreciable difference. After about 5 months everything was good, sex drive normal, and no pain. I may get an ocassional groin pain, not sure if I over did at gym of from Vasectomy but it certainly was not an easy road after my surgery.

I had a vasectomy 12 years ago and since then have haf occasional pain. The procedure was really painful and it took a long time for me to heal to the point where it wasn't almost constant pain. Now I get reoccuring pain but never experienced any loss of sex drive etc. To this day I have about a lump at the site like scar tissue that is still painful to the touch all these years later. It's just something I've learned to live with. If I could go back I woud not have had the prodecure done.
