I've got a big zit-like bump on my ball sack, and it's been there for years. It doesn't hurt, nor does it reproduce, or grow hair, but it's there, and I'm sick of looking at it. When I pop it, it looks like any other zit schmeg. It always comes back, though, and it's starting to piss me off. I'm 30 with a clean bill of health. So... zit, or other?

Molloscum Contagiosum actually looks like this:
I think what everyone else is describing is more like a lump under the skin, like a big pimple. I have experienced the same thing myself and am also overweight and sit at a desk for 8 hours a day so I think these are the leading factors involved. Just to be 100% you should definitely see a dermatologist.

i actually have the same thing that a lot of you guys are talking about. I think it might be somehow similar to how acne happens.
I've gotten these "pimples" on my thighs and butt cheeks randomly now for several years. The very first time I noticed them, they were on my butt and hurt real bad when I sat down lol. It wasn't coincidence that during that time it was also summer. At first it was just on my butt, then it spread to my thighs, lower calves, even my arms. I had it for about a month before they just went away and left real bad, dark brown scars. When it got cooler they went away, probably because the lack of heat caused me to not sweat as much as before.
I know for a fact that if you do sweat a lot between your thighs or between your butt crack you're more prone to have that sweat clog up the pores in that area of your body if you do not clean yourself right away. Clogged pores can lead up to possible infection which leads to something that looks like a pimple on your inner thigh or on your butt cheeks.
I tried seeing the doctor and this is what he told me, then he prescribed some salicylic acid, which basically just kills acne bacteria to prevent an infection. But if you've ever had acne before, you know that this only works to a certain degree because it's just a coverup. After I stopped using it due to the long term health effects, this condition would come back because I killed the acne bacteria but my pores still keep getting clogged. I started thinking about how come I have this problem and other "normal" people don't? I did a lot of research, took a lot of health classes, read a lot of books.
Recently, they started coming back. I've noticed that what I eat also affects this condition a bit because I'm usually very strict with my diet, only eating fresh vegetables, salads, very little sugar, yogurt, free-range chicken, etc, no fast food, etc... but recently I ate very poorly, hung out with friends, ate huge dinners at 2 AM in the morning, ate tons of bread, cookies, didn't get very good sleep, and I noticed the condition continued.
I started a website about how I cleared my acne, but really it's more about health and well being. Because in the end, what I started wondering was more about what separated me from those people who sometimes didn't even have to wash their faces or use salicylic acid and they still would be acne free. Those people must be "healthy" people, how do I get like that? So if you're interested in what I have to say here, please check out my blogspot:

I have these pimple like bumps near my genital area as well. They do not itch, I have no irritation. I've popped some as well and this hard puss like substance came out along with lots of blood. I've read some of the posts that described the same thing and it kind of gave me some hope. I've went to my doctor and he said that it wasn't herpes and that they would go away. I've also taken Valtrex, it cleared them up however they never left. I have one now that I've discovered a couple of days ago near my labia. It is a little embarrassing and I haven't been in a relationship because of it. I am not quite sure if it is "Molloscum Contagiosum" because some of the symptoms are inconsistent. I go for another physical in two weeks and I'm going to mention this to my doctor. I just hope he can give me treatment and a definite answer to what I have.
Thanks for the postings. It's nice to know that I am not alone.

Did you ever get it figured out? It seems everyone on here is talking about the same thing which isn't Molloscum Contagiosum. Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be Hidradenitis Suppurativa or oozing inflamed sweat glands. DON'T pop them, they will leave scars that can resemble discolored chicken pox scars.
Go to your doctor and explain your problem, he/she should order a whole battery of tests.
Good luck.

I have found that it is directly related to the moistness or humidity of an area.
They are common on the lower buttock from sitting, inner thighs from skin to skin contact or moisture trapped in under garments and right around the waistline.
I have also found that taking steps to eliminate the moisture will make them go away on thier own. Such as not wearing under garments which hold the moisture. Anything that allows for greater airflow to the affected areas seems to make a difference. Also scrubbing the areas during bathing with bathing gloves helps significantly.

Most of the posts that I have read sounds like Hidradenitis Suppurativa and I have had it for 26 years. It is not contagious and is not an STD. It took me 14 years to get a diagnosis and no there is no cure. The only thing you can do is to try and keep it under control. Like most things it is aggrevated by stress, hormonal fluctuation, and heat. There is alot of mis-information out there so be careful what you read because not all of it is true even if it is from Mayo. This condition is hardly even mentioned when doctors are in school so therefore most rarely even remember it. Remember that they say that doctors practice medicine for a reason....they are just practicing so they do not know all.
