Hello. I'm 24 year old female and just recently a strange thing has happened to me. First, I would like also to tell that I'm sexually active but recently been to gynecologist who told me that I'm completely healthy with no infections present. About three days ago, almost in the middle of my cycle I have experienced a mild abdominal pain and light bleeding. I was very confused because I thought it is early menstruation bleeding but there was too small amount of blood. What could be the cause of this light bleeding between periods that lasted only one day?

Listen, you are not alone with this problem because many women have experience it. Spotting or breakthrough bleeding between periods usually lasts 1 or 2 days.
The most common explanation of this is that these lighter “periods between periods” may represent an endometrial lining that is unstable because hormonal levels don't adequately support it. Other causes could be use of some medications, excessive exercise or weight loss, obesity and stress. Try to avoid these possible triggers and contact your gynecologist if this appears next month also.
Im almost certian that i am not pregnant because I have had a normal birth control cycle with my 4 day period and took two pills in one day... that was a week and a half ago and I have had spotting ever since! It hasnt gone away and im getting worried. I also am experiencing bloating. I dont know what it is because I read spotting can last a few days but hardly a week and a half! Anyone know whats up?

Discharge between periods definitely deserves your attention, but you do mention that you are right in the middle of your menstrual cycle. That makes me think that you are almost certainly experiencing a so-called ovulation bleeding or ovulation spotting. Some women have these right around the time they ovulate, and it is thought to be caused by the release of the egg somehow.
Those women who experience spotting between periods while on the pill don't need to worry so much either. Spotting is a common side effect of the pill, caused by hormonal changes.
Under any other circumstances, or if it happens often, it's always wise to swing by your doctor.
Hello, I tested on 13 days past ovulation and i got a very light pink positive line, but on day 14 i got my period , can I be pregnant? Has this happened to anyone before?

im 26 and i've been on Nuva ring for four years. I just recently stopped using it. I want to have another baby. I stopped in october had period in november and in december on the 20th to be exact ended on the 26th but still spotting very lightly. Could i be pregnant?
I got pregnant 2 weeks after I took out the nuva ring. It doesn't take as long to get out of your system as they say it does. So be careful!
i'm 25 and have been on birth control pills since i was 17, with no problems. for the last 12 days i've been steadily bleeding in the middle of my pill pack, and now that i finished the pill pack, the bleeding stopped. i'm not sure what happened, or if my period is going to come now that the pack is done, or what.....does anyone know if stress can cause this, i mostly only find information that indicates it could be pregnancy....also, does anyone know how long its ok to take the pill? i feel like 8 years is a long time!

as far as your bleeding for a week and a half, i've had those twice last month. very light, not red, right? i went to my gyno yesterday and she said it's because the dosage of the bcp's i'm taking is too low for my body. my hormones are all messed up and keeps fluctuating. she prescribed me a higher dosage. so i was taking loestrin (20mcg) and now i'm on yasmin (30mcg). we'll see how that goes.
Help! Im 17 years old and I have been having sex for 6 months now with my boyfriend. Last month after sex i realized i was bleeding and it lasted for a couple days.. Then it went right into my period. I was super scared so i took a home pregnancy test. It came back negative so I sorta stopped worrying about it after it stopped. I went to the doctor to see if I had a bladder infection and that too was a no. However I lied and said I wasnt sexually active because my mom would kill me. Now last week after sex I noticed I was bleeding again. (this wasnt the first time since last time) It has been alost a week and it will be light, then gone, then a little heavier, then gone and it usually comes when I pee. What do you think is wrong with me? My period is supposed to come on the sixth and my period is usually about a week early. Im really scared but I cant go to the doctor, what should I do?
Ok, last month I had a little scare because I was 5 days late for my period. I did eventually came on though. It was shorter than usual, but I disregarded any thoughts of pregnancy because, well, I had my period. That was on April 10. I have sex every weekend because my boyfriend works during the week and we had sex this past weekend, which was 2 days ago. I felt some uncomfort last night and my sleeping patterns are way off whack! I haven't been getting any sleep, I've been uncomfortable and been more turned on that usual. I woke up this Tuesday morning, and notice that I was bleeding. Nothing heavy, I just felt something, and when I went to use the bathroom, there was very light almost pinkish blood with like two little specks of clotts (almost the size of a pin tip). I'm not due to come on my period until about another 2 weeks. I'm not sure to classify this as implantation bleeding or not, I haven't taken a pregnancy test because I'm not really due in for my next period (if it even comes). Not really sure what to charge this as. I'm a little nervous, but I don't want to be because I was nervous that last time and I was almost a week late for my period. What could this bleeding be. Can someone please give me some advice on what I should make my next step!

I am a 31 year old woman who has never been pregnate and was on norplant from age 16-19. Since then I have not been on birth control. I have had unprotected sex w/ my bf for the last 2 years. I have had a regular period. 6 days every 29-31 days. My regualr Paps come back normal for the exception of my last one. They wanted me to go back to get a test done for cervical cancer. I have yet to do that. My breast feel tender. SO I am wondering if I could be pregnate or could this be a cancer issue... I have been spotting for 2 days now. a week early (period). Last month I recall spotting a day about a week after my period. Actually all this is in the last 30 days, What's going on with me, I do not have health insurance and really need to figure out if I should even purchase a preggo test, or just wait until I can go to doc to find out if this is about the cancer check that I have yet to do. THanks
