Hi even i am on hydrocortisone 10mg in morning n 5mg in evening. Have been trying to lose belly fat but unable. Except frm my tummy my body is slim. Recently doc advised me to cut down sugar from diet and that has reduced 2kgs weight in few days but not sure if anything reduced frm tummy or not. Have started doing some abdominal exercises. Also i would suggest do "anulom vilom" and "kapaalbhati" which is yoga breathing exercises (see in youtube to find out how to do that) It has many benifits. do atleast 15 mins each exercise everyday. U cant do 15 mins continuously so can do in gaps. See if it helps. Will update if it will make any improvement to me. Goodluck!!

Just be careful about taking the advice of people who don't know what they are talking about, correctly adjusting your dose of hydrocortisone is very important. If you have ever gone into an adrenal crisis like I have from cutting it too close, it's no fun. Two weeks in intensive care and having a high fever -103-104, delusions and multiple organ failure is a steep price to pay for some weight loss. Low fat, higher protein seems to keep me level along with exercise but I still struggle every day with weight. But I am alive and happy so that's worth a lot...... Dashwood

I'm so frustrated. I had thyroid issues and just could not lose weight at all. just sat at 189lbs no matter what I did or ate. After a blood test, they found that my thyroid was way off and put me on med for that. I started losing, not right away, but went from 189 to 174 and was so happy. However, along with that i did a cortisol spit test. I was off the charts....LOW end. Ironically, the low cortisol and Adrenal Fatigue was causing weight gain, and non-exisitent metabolism. I'm terrified I'm going to just shoot back up. Low cortisol weight gain, high cortisol weight gain? I'm so confused. Also have hormone therapy cream because hormones were also out of whack. its a low dose, so how at risk am I? Anyone else in this boat?

Hi, I have had bilateral adrenalectomy (supposedly with some adrenal tissue remaining) following failed pituitary surgery for Cushing's Disease too. My endocrinologist did not think Growth Hormone supplementation was necessary apart from the hydrocortisone and fludrocortison replacements.

Most of my other pituitary hormones test results fall within the normal range (provided by the laboratories).

2016 is my 8th year following post-biadrenalectomy. I believe I am experiencing effects of possible growth hormone deficiency and possibly hypothyroidism or hypopituitarism.

I'd like to know what tests your physicians have used to decide what hormone replacements to prescribe you and if the levels are obviously out of the "normal range" provided by the respective test labs.

Do you think the inability to lose fat and increase lean muscle mass could be possibly due to a growth hormone deficiency?

On the topic of losing weight while on hydrocort replacement, I am wondering if this may also in some cases be due to a related growth hormone issue

Particularly in individuals who have undergone pituitary surgery or have hypopituitary issues.

I had a cortisone injection 2 weeks ago. My weight increased and my belly is bloated and big. I can't believe how quick I have expanded. I am due to take another injection in 2 weeks.
I felt so depressed with the weight gain, I went to the pharmacy and bought food suppression tablets. My weight have reduced a bit and I feel much better about my weight.
I know not many people would agree with my decision. But this is what I do and it seems to work for me.
