My husband has been taking lortabs for all the wrong reasons. He takes them to stay awake and chill out and to do things around the house. He recently took 43 tabs in nine days. How can i help him get off them and save my marriage. He's not a nice person when he's not on them to me and the kids, very tempmental easly trigered. We are going in debt bills climbing stressed out.

Unfortunately there is going to be nothing you can do, it has to be all him and for himself.  Sounds selfish?  It is because in recovery if you are not doing it for yourself than don't even begin or try because it won't work.

Does he get this by prescription or on the street?  If a doctor you could call the office and let them know he is abusing them and they may decide to not script him anymore - pretty drastic but can be done.

Does he know how you feel about him taking the Lortabs?  Does he know how they affect him when not on them as it sounds like he is addicted by his behaviors that you describe.  How would he feel about NA (narcotics anonymous) and talking about that, it would also benefit you to get more info on what he is going through and how you can help him.

Good luck and I hope this helps
