A couple of days ago I developed red, circular rash on my thighs that was so itchy and burning on both thighs and groins. I went running to a doc and was diagnosed with jock itch. Apparently no big deal in comparison with I had thought it might be. Anyway, he prescribed lotrisone to me. What is this lotrisone and how it works? Thx

I used lotrisone as well but it was for the athlete's foot. Lotrisone cream and lotion contain a combination of a steroid and an antifungal drug. Lotrisone is used to treat skin infections caused by fungus, such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm of the body. Steroid treats symptoms of itching, redness, swelling, and inflammation and antifugal treats the cause of the infection by inhibiting the growth of certain yeast and fungus organisms.
