I've been having sharp abdominal pain on my left side (feels like pulses) during orgasm. I had it checked with Gynicologist and everything is fine.
I had a blood test today and everything is fine with me. If it keeps on hurting i was told I might have to have a colonoscopy. I really don't want to because i'm young and have never had any operation.
I feel a similar pain lately without having orgasm but it's not as painful.
Has anybody experienced anything similar?

Lately I've been feeling a spasm like cramping when I orgasm, feels like it's near my ovaries. It's not a pleasant feeling and I'm concerned. Has anyone else felt this way? I have an appointment to see my gynecologist but am wondering who else has felt this way.

I also have pain during/after orgasm, even when I just get excited. It was really bad. I went to my two different GYN and they couldn't find anything wrong. After over a year I deciced to have a hystrectomy thinking that would help (I had everything removed). It is better but I still have some pain. My GNY says there isn't anything that should be causing this pain. Hmmm...so why and I having the pain then ? Guess that seems to be the question of the day. %-)

I had this - I had an ovarian cyst that was causing it. After the cyst ruptured, it went away. Definitely check with your doctor.

I have been having pain in my left lower ab when I reach orgasm also. It doesn't hurt too terribly bad, just enough to let me know something is there. It feels weird, like some kind of sharp little pull. I don't have insurance, so I can't just run to the doctor. What is this?????

I don't know if this will help many people, but I had right side pain and had a laparoscopy and was told they removed endometriosis. They gave me two lupron shots in six months. As soon as the shot wore off, the pain was back. I had a partial hysterectomy and they left my left ovary. They took my appendix also.

It has been eight years and I still have the pain. I am afraid to go to the gyne because of a bad experience I had with my last one. My pain is almost constant. It isn't bad, it is chronic and is about a 6 on "the scale". I don't know what the answer is, but I wouldn't get the Lupron shots or a hysterectomy if I had to do all over again. Best wishes to everyone.

I've had this problem for about 9 months now I occasionally get pain just sitting at work however it intensifies during an orgasm. I'm 30 years old. I started the process of trying to figure it out a few months ago. First I went to my obgyn, who thought it was a cyst on my left ovary although skeptical because I'm on the pill and most people don't get cysts on the pill. When he did the internal exam and pressed on the area I literally screamed. He scheduled me for an ultrasound both external and internal. the ultrasound technician said that if it was a cyst and had burst she would be able to tell. Anyway, she didn't see anything. When I saw my obgyn after the ultrasound, he said nothing was there and that all i did have was this fibroidal cysts. basically small cysts throughout. I have fibrocystic breasts and I had heard how they can also be in your uterus. He explained that when I have an orgasm the uterus contracts thus rupturing these small cysts. I refused to believe these small cysts were causing this pain. I went to a gastroentologist (sp.?) as the ultrasound technician mentioned the only thing else on the lower left was intestinal and colon related. I had a cat scan which showed nothing (such as diverticulitis - many people in my family have this and causes lower left abdominal pain). I then had a colonoscopy. One small polyp was removed but other than that there was nothing wrong intestinally. Since then I figured I had an internal and external ultrasound, a cat scan and a colonscopy and it's still a mystery so I've given up. I still have the pain when I have an orgasm and it's pretty intense. I'm not sure there's anything else I can do to figure this out.

I have the same problems that you are experiencing. I have been to 4 different doctors and none of them know what's wrong with me. I just want to die after I've orgasmed. The pain is so intense! The last doctor suggested the same thing- cysts that were bursting - but I don't think that is the cause either. I've had the same problem for 3 years now!!! I've been researching it online and I'm releaved to see other people experiencing the same thing- not that I would EVER wish this upon anyone! Good luck and PLEASE post if you find out anything.

Hi. i have been experiencing the same pain during orgasm, excersising and just sitting at my desk. i have had ct scan, internal / external ultrasounds, mri, x-ray, and surgery last November. I have been dealing with this for over a year now. I was told that I had endometriosis after my surgery, but when they did the biopsy it showed that I do not actually have it. The gyno removed 4 sections of which appeared to be endometriosis. He doesn't know what he removed now. The pain went away for about a month and came back again. He said that he doesn't know what is causing my pain. I am seeing a Pelvic Pain Specialist this week to see if there is anything else that could be causing this discomfort. I will try to post again to let you know what the new doctor says.

I get an unbearable pain to the right of my belly button, which shoots straight up and down my abdomen. I'm being treated for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, but I am not convinced that's the problem since the pain is still there even after 4 months of weekly physical therapy. I think my next step should be a test for endometriosis...did anyone have treatment that helped? I would rather have this pain than have any surgery that could hurt my chances for having children. I've been married for one year, so of course this is very harmful to my marriage as well.

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!
