i have always had colitis but not so bad.. a year now i am having  abdominal pains and cambs and loose stooll every two days i sometimes feel good for a month then i eat something or drink a zip of alcohol and problems begin.. sometimes my lower left abdomen hurts like it has been punched not common for me like the clasic diaria pain. and i also feel pain on my back but like its linked to my front.. I have had 2 herniated discs for a long time with leg pains some times but now it might have reached some nerves that affect the bowels or the belly i dont know.. i also had a colonoscopy and biopsys witch came back clean. i had a pill cam test and small intestine is good but i also have H pylori . and hiatal hernia .. witch didnt make me feel bad ( the hernia) but i take nexium.. H.pylori can make someone have loose stooll or digestive problems and idiaria is what i read on the net but my doctors dont agry much they say it mostly causes stomach problems.. but to me that i am sensitive any digestion problems could lead to undigested food to my colon with all the known consequenses ... i took antibiotics for that but oonly for 10 days and the doc sed it should have 85 % succes but it didnt and now he doesnt think i should try the longer therapys cause they are not sure and they might create more probolems .. i dont know if i should do it or not.PLUs with the ultrasounds i found out i have a varicocele on my left side witch i am sure is afected by bloating on my bowels and also afects they way i can easily pass gas.. lol .. but it does . it feels like sometimes i cant pass gas easily so thats why i feel the pain if i pass it i am ok .. so there could be more problems than one or even two that can make problems like that you describe.. plus i ll go check my self for celiac but i dont think i have it my smallintestine villi was not  decreased and i eat bread .. thats all  . i feel a little.. traped but i ll try fixing all thos eone by one.. then i ll look for a job..or i dont know.... good luck to all of you.

L2L3 bulge impingement will cause that kind of pain, all the nerves are connected and if you have something pushing on them from the back it can mess everything up all around. Night sweats, loss of bladder and bowell, drop foot. Have you ever had an MRI and if not your doctors are not to hip to back problems.

When I read your post, it was as if you took the words right out of my mouth. I have had this same problem for as long as 10 years. In the beginning, i would experience it maybe once every couple of months and the rating of pain would be at about a 4 (on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the highest). It would also last maybe a day, in which it would flare up maybe twice in that day. Now, it seems it rarely goes away and I've found it hard to function in my daily activities. The most relief I find is when I push into my left side with a pillow or curl myself up into a ball and lay on my left side with a pillow or something pushing into my left abdomen. The pain is a burning pain in my left side. It feels like pressure is on my back and hip. Also, this pain radiates from my middle left side up under my left rib cage all the way down to my pelvic area. Also, i've noticed when I get this pain, I expel these deep burps in which appears to come from deep within....it is very uncomfortable having to hold this in when in public. My stomach also swells as if I ate a meal for four. The thing is that when I stretch on my back, the pain seems to stop, but the second I move back into my normal position, the pain comes back. I've also noticed that this pain worsens when I haven't eaten. I had no doubt that it was my back. WRONG! I had an MRI done and the reading was normal! So what now? In the years past, I have had ultrasounds, sonograms, ct scans, nuclear med....I'm all out of answers! This pain is beyond excruciating and as many of you do, i have a pretty high tolerance for pain...you have to after having this type of pain for so long! I have stopped going places and doing things because of this pain. The most annoying thing is getting up and heading out only to have to turn around and head home because this pain has ruined your good time to get out and do something fun! I won't even budge to go to the store or get out of my car to get gas because the pain has pretty much "taken me hostage" so to say! I've become depressed. I see my my friends and family enjoy their days, going here and there, even doing things as simple as getting up and getting dressed in the mornings and i miss my good days! This pain has really crippled my life! I wish there was an answer/cure for this so that I can have my life back! I'm only 34 and not married and no kids. How can I ever have a life and family if I can't tolerate getting out and meeting new people?

Hello everyone I wanted to explain what is happening to my dad and possibly obtain some comments if any people can help.

My dad is 70 now and has severe lower left abdominal pain for about 13 years.  It

Over the past 3-4 years it has become terribly worse.  It has completely ruined his life and he can do very little.  When he eats the pain get much worse.  The pain is not consistent, he does not have it all day, but he does have it around 2 or 3 times a day.  It lasts for 3-4 hours and it literally puts him to the ground as his body become consumed with the amount of pain he is in.  Even when he is drinking a cup of tea or coffee or has thin soup, he still receives this pain almost immediately.  He has had many tests several times, from heart to stomach to intestines and has had almost every invasive research test that heads of departments at hospitals can think of.   One doctor thinks it is coming from a nerve in his back.  Dad is on Warfrin, Lipitor and few other medications.  He only has one kidney and is almost about to start dialysis as it is only functioning about 15%.  This obviously affects what pain killers he is able to take.  He can easily handle the dialysis, he is not too concerned about it all at because its the abdominal pain everyday that has ruined this once strong, hard working, positive and funny man.  He has had a few stents put in vessels around his heart as well.  For some reason after he had one of the stents put in the pain disappeared for exactly 12 months.  No doctor has been able to figure out what or if there was any direct relation.  After 12 months it returned.  He has been thoroughly tested for celiac, diverticulitis, and may other gastrointestinal type matters.  Naturally some professionals have suggested to dad that it is psychological as they simply have no answers.  Its obviously not it as we see how he is and when it happens - but it certainly has changed who he is.  If anyone has any similar experiences please share or provide some thoughts that may have come along your path.  Even if it cannot be treated we are completely desperate to find some answers around the cause of this problem.  Thanks for reading - Frank.

I have the same problems too tiff, I had a hysterctomy almost 2 years ago whe I was 32. Doctors say its muscle or from past tramua. I was going to physical therapy which helped, but now I lost my health insurance so that is not an option any longer.

I'm thinking it has to do with the surgeries or maybe endometriosis. I still have an ovary therefore still make estrogen which breeds endometriosis.

I ve learned to live with the bloating.

Yes, this happened to me, non-localized pain in the lower left abdomen which felt diffused towards the back near my left spine. Went to see the doctor, she asked for urine test to check for anomaly in kidney/pancreas, and advised me to see a specialist. Urine was found to be ok, but ultra-sound and MRI tests confirmed I have herniated discs at the S-spines.

I must admit I rarely exercise, but maintaining body weight and avoiding stress at work actually help a lot. And yes, do not carry heavy stuff, not even your toddler if you have one.

All blood tests and colon evetything normal but pain severe to extremes. Finally saw a osteo doc. It is my si joint inflammed. Like a huge sprain. Unforgiving. Go to osteo injury doc or rhemmatology. They will know and can regulate swelling and start rehab..this one hurts, burns your abdomen.

Hi everyone, i've got similar pain and was recently diagnosed with a Kidney stone. Not sure if anyone else has already suggested that as an issue for you on here or not, but that's what came from my numerous tests! Was dealing with the problem for almost a year before finding out it was a stone. However, they still refuse to do anything about it until i have severe symptoms again. Good luck to you all!
