Lump above left testicle, somewhat painful. Can it be cancer even if it isn't directly on testicle

While it's not totally impossible for cancer to develop outside of the actual testicle itself, it is very uncommon.  are you sexually active at all? do you have any other symptoms such as penile discharge or pain while urinating?

How long have you had this bump? did it pop up quick or slowly grow over time?
