hi there. i have been reading many sites and have found out that is is common to have lumps at the top of each testicle where the tubes attach.
But i have found 2 pea sized lumps at the base of each testicle (feels like tubes coming from them) as well as the ones on top. None of the diagrams i have seen illustrate this. Having them at the base of both testicles makes me think that this is ok, but my left testicle seems to have a dull ache (on and off) which can move between the testicles.
About a month ago the discomfort was so bad i couldnt shut my legs together, but the pain went away after a week, but has returned now. (nowhere near as bad pain tho). It feels like alot like blue balls.
any chance you could tell me about the lumps at the base of testicles and any idea on what the pain may be caused by? thank you
(not sure if it makes any differnece but i do weight train. also the pain sometimes lessens after going to the toilet.)

The thing is that those lumps you felt at the base may be from the same source as the lumps you felt on top. You see, this epididymis goes from the base to the top of the testicle and is lumpy all the way. So, it is quite possible that these are the lumps you are feeling. You make you understand better, here is a photo of epididymis.
Did you by any chance notice a lump in your groins? If you say that you’ve been working out, it is possible that you have suffered from inguinal hernia, which is a protrusion of an intestine through an abdominal wall. It could happen from straining. If you are experiencing testicle pain, it could be one of the causes.
You don’t have any problems while urinating, or during sex in the genital area, do you?

no problems what at all when urinating and no lumps around the groin, but after sex there is often the same feeling as "blue balls" gives for a day or so after. Your diagram helps alot putting my mind to rest on the lump at the base. :-)

Did you know that epididymis is actually 5-7 m long? I've just found it out yesterday. I was shocked. It is that long but curled up and sealed to the testicle.
And this pain you are feeling after sexual activity....do you manage to ejaculate during that sex. activity? Mybe you are having problems with the blood leaving your genitals after an orgasm, so you are expereincing pain similar to blue balls.
What i find interesting is that you pain subsides after peeing and as far as i know bacteria is usually flushed away by peeing.
Why not go and see a doc? The only thing he may decode to do is take a urine test and check for the bacterial presence.

What are the areas below and to the right of point 2 on the diagram as i think i may have come across them on myself (well the one to the right of point 2 on the diagram i think i have) It's about the size of a grain of sand but hard and when running my finger i get a mild feeling similar to when you get kicked in the groin (but only much much fainter - basically a slight sensation is felt once they are touched). These are present in the same location on both my testicles, they are very small and what seems to be right next to/under the head of the epidermis i.e. next the lump thats is to the right of point 2. Is this anything to worry about, could you exlain what this lumps are that aren't labelled on the diagram please?

i have found a circle like lump which moves around the testical alot :S theres no swelling but a discomfort every now and then! im a little worried but i dont feel a trip to the doctors is necessary, can anybody explain to me what this cud be? its been there for years but im beginning to get worried about it

*you will always find that one testical is lumpyer than the over due to sports fights and wanking. All of this will start to make make you testicle lumpy and a bit swallow
