Exact same issue that I have. Two C-sections 16 & 17 years ago and now at 38 years old I had some of the lump of "scar tissue" removed and five years later it grew back bigger and more painful:( I have Ending also and it grows in place of Anything that is removed. So, ladies...be careful about removing ovaries or uterus if you have these same issues because my OB/GYN said endo and cancer sometimes grows in place of these removed organs.:(

My Daughter just had surgery 2 days ago. The Doctor said she could "see" the nodule and removed it. I am trying to look up what causes this nodule, and or what is this "nodule".... My grandchildren are turning 5 and 9 soon. She has suffered all these symptoms for around 4 years. Had no problems after 1st C-Section. But the 2nd C-Section "always felt different" on the one side..Healed nicely on the other side..the pain became too much to bear during monthly cycle..I believe they only did an ultra sound to find the problem but ignored her complaints till became too painful for her. So sad/mad.

my 1st child i had natural and other 2 were csections, with last being 7 years ago. I just had surgery on a very painful nodule on my left side of my scar...my gyno has sent it away for confirmation of what he suspected to be endometriosis. Years I have had pains which feel like everything inside is bound together, and have many other symptoms which include fatigue and ibs symptoms which are signs of endometriosis. I am hoping with this surgery it helps with all the pain and pressure....so anyone else with these symptoms TELL your doc you want it checked for endo and they can do a ultra sound to see if there is blood flow to the nodule, I don't think scar tissue does but endo will-don't quote me on that!

I had 2 C sections. 2.5 years after my 2nd C Section I started noticing a nodule on my left side of my scar, which grew in size over last 2 years with cyclical pain. My OBGYN said it could be scar tissue or endometriosis. CT scan also came back with those as a possibility. I also read it online that this is also called Abdominal wall Endometriosis, which comes after C sections. To confirm, my OBGYN is asking me to do a core biopsy. Is it necessary to do biopsy before surgery? Can I just get surgery done and remove the nodule and send it for biopsy? Any recommendation on who should do the surgery (OBGYN or General Surgeon)? Is it an outpatient surgery and how long is the healing time?

Quick response will be highly appreciated.

After what I just read from all the posts above has given me some hope that I am not crazy. I have had two ultrasounds, a vaginal ultrasound, 2 ct scans, small bowel series xrays (lasts 4 hours), a endoscopy,  colonoscopy, and several blood tests. They tried to take my appendix even though nothing was wrong with my appendix during scans, but I refused. They also hospitalized me overnight to observe. I still have no answers. My gyno put me on birth control and that did help with the pain, but I am horrible at taking pills and cant remember to take it everyday and my periods get all screwed up and blah blah blah. The lump I have is on the right side and it feels like a lima bean. Sometimes it feels like a lighter is being held to it. Any sneezing, coughing, or laughing makes it feel like it is ripping my skin. I had my c-section 4 yrs ago and I use to run a lot and now I can't around mid cycle and during my period because the pain from running and stretching is excruciating. I don't know how I am suppose to live with this??????????

I just read a study about this.  Go to the doctor, it is probably scar endometriosis.  Talk to them about it.

Hi, I had a c-section 8 years ago and I have pulling, burning, achy pain on each side of my incision, there is a "ball" underneath each side of my incison, it used to hurt the most around that time of the month, however nowadays it's random, I have read about deep tissue massage therapy to help manipulate and relief some of the pain, however most of the time the "balls" are too painful to touch/put pressure on them---unbearable pain. Doctor just says it's scar tissue.

I too had one of these growing lumps after my 2nd child.  They called mine an endometrial implant and removed it without issues.  I have since had another child and now 6 years later I have a lump growing once again.  I don't really have any pain associated with my lump but sometimes I do feel like organs are somewhat sticking together if that makes any sense.  Like when I go to the bathroom I have to push really hard sometimes just to pee.  Othertimes not.  Very Strange!!

Hello, I am having the same problems. I had my first and only children which are twins 8 years ago. At that time I had the best of both worlds, one was born vaginal and the other by ceserean section. I have these horrible pains a few days prior to menustration and they last throughout menustration. I have knots/ lumps on both sides of my ceserean scar. It is so painful that I don't want to participate in any activity at least the first 3 days of my cycle. The pain is so unbearable at times I can hardly stand. Im not sure what is going on. All that I am told is that it is scar tissue. I

I am a 45 healthy woman who delivered a baby at age 37 by c-section. I am a muscular build, swim daily with no health issues other than the c-section problem you describe. My problem is only on part of the section scar (slightly above left side). I notice the pain is cyclic, burning and like yours responds to the change in hormones each month, though over time does not go away. I have recently sought out a holistic doctor on this matter as it seemed worsening. He felt this was related to low thyroid and has put me on thyroid drops. While it has only been a few days the pain on the "step" seems improved. Might be worth checking out.? I would be interested in any changes you have experienced.

I had a lump under my scaring from first c sec and took the docs ages and lots of bothering them to do anything about it. Eventually they did an op where the lump was and I was told after a biopsy that it was endometriosis :-/

In 2010 I had my c section. I did everything right with the stretching and massaging of the scar. Had no problems until about a year or so after my first c section.. what started off what I thought to be a stitch scrapping my inside muscle grew into a pea size lump, now it is about the size of a golf ball .. has x ray and ultra sound done a year ago , and doc obgyn told me everything looked normal.. the pain is indescribable , lower back pain a few day before my period starts, makes me sick, can't sleep, pain meds barely help at this point, certain movements or just a slight twist cause a stabbing pain almost like a lighting bolt which can take your breath away.. period time if horrible, and then after my period the pain continues and the area swells and becomes so intense wearing underwear hurts.. my outer skin feels like a bad sunburn and someone taking sandpaper to it.. the lump seems to grow during the ending of.my period and ovulation time causing even more pain... I have looked up everything I know and found a few things, one being abdominal wall endometreosis. After my obgyn said everything came back normal on my ultrasound , I questioned whether they were looking at the right chart.. there was no way everything came.back normal, not when everyone could feel.something slightly above my c section scar. After a note couple of months I went to my general doctor and told him I could not take it anymore , that I didn't care if the had to remove everything just to stop the pain... after the ovulation period and that intense sensation , the lump seems to go down a.little bit but always growing during this time the area that felt like a bad sunburn with sandpaper , becomes very irratated and.begins to burn and itch... this whole.thing has me.limited as to what I can and can not do.. every month it is the.same thing over and over again with it only seeming to get worse.. I have an appointment to go see a surgeon next week.. I sure hope this gets resolved and that I can have a normal life again .. and I hope all.of ypu all get the help you all need
