Are there any hamster owners here, preferably with experience of lumps on hamsters? I am not sure what to do about a lump my hamster has on its back. To be honest, I believe it is a sign its life is slowly (or not so slowly) coming to an end, but the kids are very fond of him and I would like to spare them the grief of losing their hamster.
I would suggest bringing him into see a vet. Lumps are never a good thing. In my opinion I think no matter what lumps should always be checked out by someone.

My rusiandwarf hamster had it to. She had it in her mouth. It's from storing food away and not coughing it up. I believe its a tumor or somesort of type of food that causes the hamster that, do you clean its cage regularly? If not that is why the hamster developed the bump.
