Hi folks! I have been exercising for a month now, in part to lose weight and in part because I simply want to get fit. I am not sure if this is in any way related to the fact that I now have a lump on my lower abdomen, but I do know that it appeared around the same time. If you have any ideas, please chime in!

OK, this might sound like odd advice but I think that if you are really obese, you need to go and see a dietician before starting work outs. If your diet is poor and you are trying to do lots of work getting fit, your body might not be able to handle it. A personal trainer might also help you lose your weight responsibly, so you won't have problems like this again.
