Hi there! My mom is using this drug lypanthyl and I have no idea what it is for. I am kind of embarrassed to ask her, because lately we haven’t been getting on so well, and she is a bit cranky, so I am asking you! Is there anybody who has used this drug before?
Hello! I think that Lypanthyl is a brand name for a drug called Fenofibrate. I don’t think that lypanthyl is used for American market. Anyway, fenofibrate helps reduce types of fat in the blood. It is especially good at lowering triglycerides and a form of cholesterol called very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). High levels of these types of fat in the blood are associated with an increased chance of pancreatitis, an inflammation of the pancreas that can result in severe stomach pain and even death.
