i suffer from the male breast syndrome... the chest has grown abnormally and it looks very awkward for me to indulge in things like swimming etc.
i have decided to stop any fat intake and replaced one of my meals (dinner) with salad only.
i shall try this no-fatty-food approach for at least a month to see what happens... quite obviously, ice-creams, chocolates, or anything remotely junk has also been done-away with...
questions:
> is my approach right?
> can male breasts be 'treated' without surgery?
> my friend told me that if i exercise (chest exercises like push ups etc) it will only make the condition worse since it will 'grow' the muscles further. is it right?
Please help!

You are on the right track but dieting is not enough, and eating too little will actually hurt rather than help you. Depending on how much you weigh, your age, height, and body composition - your body has a daily amount of calories to maintain your weight. Try to consume 500-800 calories less than this amount if you are trying to lower the amount of fat in your body. If you cut too much, you will lose more muscle than fat compounding the problem. If you are not overweight I woudn't worry about losing fat but skip straight to building muscle.
I also didn't want to resort to surgery, so I developed a weight training routine. It's obvious that you will need to focus on chest exercises(bench press, daily pushups) but train other muscle groups as well. The weight training will boost your body's natural level of testosterone which will serve to cancel out estrogen that may be present. Avoid like the plague alcohol and marijuana as they are known to result in more estrogen being produced by the body.
Good luck. I started a couple months ago and I already see a HUGE difference when I look in the mirror. I just wish I had started sooner - all those summers of embarassment :-)
