I have had add as long as I can remember- I am 61 and sit at a computer all day. I take 30mg adderal 3x a day but I get mild relief for focus motivation etc etc. I told my Dr I have a very hight tolerance to meds. I've actually have woken during an operation and had stitches in my mouth after being given a local and it wa torture. How can I get the benefits that other people due at lower levels if I have to follow a chart that says this is the max for your weight. Anyone else have this problem. I cannot take the XL as it makes me feel creepy. I would like to suggest 2 30 mg tabs in the morning when I have an extreme problem getting up to go to work and follow 2 more 30mg throught the day taking them the 2 at different times. Also what effects I get last maybe 3 hours if that.

There's a couple of issues here.
Adderall is an amphetamine and as such it is easily addictive. You can easily become dependent upon this medication and it can lead to cardiac problems or sudden death.
Actually your doctor is trying to accommodate you. Many doctors are reluctant to prescribe more than 60mg a day because that's what the FDA approved in children. At the time of the application Adderall wasn't tested and approved by the FDA for use in adults.
Sit down with your doctor and discuss this. It is likely the concern over addiction that keeps them from prescribing more. You may even consider another medicine.
You may even need to see an ADHD specialist to get your dosage increased.
