I have lived over half of my life on methadone. I have not had methadone in 7 days. My last child was a methadone baby and she is 17 years old. You do the math. I have a few idea's about easing withdraw, without any opiates. I am apprehensive to reveal what this is, since it is a controlled substance, but it could help millions get this "sent from Satan himself" (methadone) cleared out of your body, and give us all a fighting chance.
Thanks for listening.

I have been on Methadone for 9 months now at 85mg a day. My first time around I was on 65mg & was there a year. I really, really, really want to get off this sh*t. Can you please help?
I'm currently on day 7 of Methadone withdrawal and I must say I am so happy I did it this way. I had been doing opiates recreationally since I had surgery at 17 then went off to college and was itroduced to oc's. The oc's lasted for a few years untill I couldn't afford it and a friend (struggling with his own addiction) showed me the way to heroin. Of course you say "I won't shoot up" but when you know you have $80 to last you a week and can "make it last longer" you try it and from that moment it was the worse friendship I ever had. She was always there for me so I thought she was my only true friend. After 6 years of daily use and 3 failed attempts to quit with suboxine I decided to try methadone. It was never meant to be something I got high off only to help me quit. I was afraid of w/d since I had tried to do it cold turquey before so I stayed on methadone for almost 2 years. These last few months I have been stepping myself down untill I got to 2.5 milligrams a day and then quit. The first 5 days were the worse. Not nearly a bad as all the other times but I didn't feel great either. I got some Benadryl, Imodium ad and weed to help me sleep. If you are on methadone and want to get off of it I want to let you know it is possible and not as bad as you might think it is. We "opium voyagers" have been through hell. Some, myself included, have had to sit in hot or cold cars for hours sick as a dog to get ur next fix or had to do much worse (I know I was a lucky one). We have overdosed, died and been brought back. If we can die and come back we can handle 2 weeks of feeling like c**p. It's better than feeling like c**p your entire life. Good luck to everyone in my opinion, only my opinion, if you are going to get off anything I say go down with methadone to 2.5 a day and then quit. Its worth it.
