I have a serius eye problem and I have scheduled a medical examination for tomorrow but I need some info right away. Some sort of mucus is constantly filling my eye and I am barely able to open them in the morning. It is not that hard during a day, but the mornings are awful. What could this be?
We are most probably talking about iritis. This condition is symptomized with the signs you have described and when the treatment start you should feel much better. Sometimes, this condition happens because of the herpes simplex virus so you will probably be examined for that too. In that case, therapy will most probably last a bit longer and you will have to keep your immune system level high.
Well I can’t tell you the correct diagnosis but I can give you several reasons why are you experiencing discharge from your eye. Allergy is one possibility, and allergy usually resembles with eye problems, such as swelling or discharge. Other cause might be an infection. Infections are very common complications of the eye, and they are not something to ignore. The best option is to take some antibiotics or to apply some eye drops. The mucus can be caused by some virus or even irritation and usually is nothing to be worried about because it goes away on its own. But if the problem is present for long period of time you need to find the underlying cause.
