My name is Ash, i've never done drugs a day in my life. Recently, i got a boyfriend and he is on methadone. He is taking methadone because he stopped using heroine. Since i dont know anything about drugs i descided it would be best to do some research. What prompted me most to start researching was how he acted. He says one thing like, "Your the most amazing women i have ever met in my life." and then the next minute he's "You pissed me off all f***ing day'. How am i supost to put up with it? He's hot and then cold? I care about him so much i even looked up methadone annonomous. I just want to help them but i also need to help myself andhave my gaurd up so he cant hurt me. When i looked heroine up in the first place i looked up a story on youtube and started freaking out. To think that my boyfriend acted like that and did that just shocks me! I started hypervenilating. Then i looked up methadone, the side affects, the affects on pregnancy and all that but i never did find advise on how to cope with the mood swings? He's not addicted to the methadone. he wants to get off of it? how can I be supportive and help if i keep geting hurt from it?

I have been on every drug made one time or another in my life, some for a long time, some just a few times. I also did heroine and other pain killers for years. I to started on methadone to quit and what a mistake that was. Methadone is by far the hardest and most painfull of all the drugs ive did. I was sick for more than a month coming off it and only came off it then because i got locked up. If he is using it to come off heroine i would suggest he not use it long. The longer the use the longer the withdraw. If you want to know more feel free to ask.. Best of luck to you both.
