I am asking this on behalf of my best friend. He has had this condition for many years now, and it is being controlled by doctors to a point, but not healed at all, and it gives him a lot of trouble. The doctors don't seem to know what it is.
Basically, it's a sort of lesion on the mid-back of his head, that will ulcerate and bleed profusely, especially when he sleeps. There's a lot of puss and blood involved, and it causes him a lot of pain and irritation. He has to wash his hair frequently when not on medications. When he is on meds, it seems to dry up some, and bleed less, but doesn't go away at all.
Do any of you know what this could possibly be? I hate to see him suffer like this without adequate medical help (he's also uninsured and poor; not sure if that has anything to do with why the doctors say they don't know).
Thanks!
