I had a lower back cortisone injection this past Friday. It actually is the 4th time in 2 years for this same herniated disc. But this time, the day after my injection I felt worse, more pain in my lower back and buttocks and more sciatic nerve pain down my right leg to my foot. But the worst and most worrisime is the new feeling of dizziness, headaches. My pupils even looked dialated, my heart rate feels fast. Just generally feeling of unwellness is making me feel nervous. I am also weak and tired.

Wondering if something went wrong? I called the doctors office and only spoke with a nurse, she said the doctor would get back to me. But if my symptoms worsened to go to the ER?

Should I be worried? Or is this the same weird side effect you are all speaking of? Why is it happening

My fiancé received three steroid injections in his right shoulder last Tuesday. He has had these same types of injections in the past. I don't know specifics off the top of my head and he is down, in bed and I don't want to bother him. So, this last time, he is constantly throwing up, can't keep anything down, hasn't eaten and kept anything down since Monday of this week! He has lost probably 10+ pounds so far. He is sweating profusely yet says he is freezing. The pain in his shoulder and neck is severely worse than before the injections. We took him to the ER last Thursday evening, they treated him like a druggie because when he is in pain, he looks like he is drugged up, but he is not. They finally gave him an injection of Tordol and told him to go. He asked if he could continue to lay down for a bit and they told him no, that they were busy and he needed to go!!!!! WTH?!?!? He was by himself, as I was at work and MY ex-mother in law took him for me(I know, strange, but great!) and she had my kids and they couldn't stay with him because they had places to be. I don't understand how or why they could be so cold hearted and rude to someone in so much pain! Anyway, he has had 1, maybe 2 days since last Tuesday that he hasn't felt quite so bad, had some pain, but not really the vomitting or nausea. But for the most part, he has been in bed and only up to vomit or urinate. We even went to the doctors office that gave him the injections, this last Monday, because of the pain and didn't get any answers except that he has probably had an "A-typical reaction".....what the hell does that mean? and what can you do for him? Nothing. I called that same doctors office just yesterday and they said the vomitting isn't from the injections(REALLY?) and that if he is still in that much pain and can't keep anything down, take him to the ER again. I gotta tell you, he is not excited about that idea! What do I do? What can I do for him? He can't go on like this! I feel like he is not getting any better, maybe even worse!! I feel like he is wasting away. It is so very hard to watch. I try to do what I can to make him comfortable when I can, but I still have to work, so it is hard. I can only IMAGINE what he is feeling!!!!!!! Does anybody have any answers out there??? Please help me help him!!!! Thank you for taking the time to read this! it is much appreciated!!

Had cortisone shot in knee yesterday, the swelling has gone down some but still hurts to walk a lot. Doc told me it could be up to 3 days of this but feeling very nauseated today..bit of headache. Hopefully won't last long. Hopefully surgery soon on torn mensicus. He says I've made a bigger tear than the intial one, the first tear was 3 years ago. This is no fun

I had cortison shot in my back for herniated disc 2 weeks ago, ever since I have felt sick. Very nauseous, headaches, shaking feeling and now dizziness. How long do these side effects last... The nurses and Drs keep saying it should only be 3-4 days????

I realize this is a year old, but how long did the side effects last? I had the shot in my shoulder yesterday and feel nausea and severe stomach pain. I've had cortisone shots in my feet in the past and had no side effects - but this was immediate. Awful!!!
