Just a quick question...a guy I was seeing was tested and came up positive for Chlamydia. In the meantime I was treated for a bacterial infection with a sulfur based anitbiotic, I was on it for 5 days. Are sulfur based anitbiotics strong enough to treat the infection or should I go back to the doctors and get treatment just incase it was passed down to me?

call the facility that treated you for the v-bac (vagionis bacterium) and ASK what the offending bacteria was. If they did not do a culture on the specific bacteria, see another doctor and request a culture and sensitivity be done. This is the only sure fire way that you treat the bacteria you are in fact infected with and with the right drug. Do this even if you are still showing signs and symptoms such as, abnormal color, amount or odor of discharge, or lower abdominal pain and low fever, or just malaise (a general 'blah' feeling), it is worth your peice of mind and reproductive organs to know for sure. also, if this turns out to be something other than chlamydia, make sure your partner(s) are also treated as they can and will pass it back to you.
