Hi. Had a kidney disease myself and know that a nephrologist is a physician educated and trained in kidney diseases and transplantation, and dialysis therapy. Also, he has been trained in the diagnosis and management of therapy of high blood pressure. Hi is a subspecialty of internal medicine. Knowledge of internal medicine is required if a nephrologist want to obtain a certification. To become one “kidney disease doctor”, requires many years of training and school. They can further specialize in pediatric or adult nephrology
