I didn't bleed after my first time either. Sometimes if you play certain sports it can break down your hymen before you even become sexually active. I've heard rumors about using tampons doing this as well, but I'm not too sure if it's true.
I was always on the back of a horse that's the only reason I can come up with it not happening for me.
