Hi, guys. My grandfather has been experiencing some nose bleeds and deafness lately. He didn’t have those symptoms before. I would like to know if this can point to pharyngeal cancer since we had a neighbor that died from this few years ago. I will really appreciate all your replies. Bye!

Hi, there. Symptoms of pharyngeal cancer depend which part of pharynx is affected by the cancer. Pharynx (throat) has three parts. The one behind nasal cavity is called nasopharynx. The one that is behind oral cavity is called oropharynx and the one under is hypopharynx. Nasopharyngeal cancer gives problem in breathing and speaking. It also gives frequent headaches. Pain or trouble with hearing is also possible. Oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal cancer usually give only ear pain. You should visit an ENT specialist. Good luck!
