I had breast augmentation about 5 months ago. I got 397cc silicone implants through my crease. The scars are almost completely gone. My breasts are beautiful! However, my nipples do not have any sensation, they are still numb. I can say that both of my breasts were completely numb for about 3 months so it has gotten better. It looks like a lot of posts on here are from ladies who have just recently had it done. I think that it's normal in the beginning but not sure how much after that. I too called my doctor's office about my concern a while ago but all they said was that I signed a consent before my surgery. That really wasnt my question...I really wanted to know if this is normal & if it will gradually come back? Has anyone else had their's done longer than me that can give me some good news?

I had my breast augmentation about 1 month ago through the belly button. I got saline. At first the nipples were extremely tender
but they are getting better everyday. As far as the numb feeling in the breast .....i have it too. My doc said it will evenually get
better and do not fret about it so much. It is already getting better but certain spots are still numb. It feels weird don't it.

I have to tell you guys beware. Before i had breast implants, i had SO much sensation in my nipples! it was amazing!! I had saline breas implants put in about 10 years ago, and the sensation died out a little bit but it was still there. Well i decided to go BIGGER and i switched to silicone about 2 years ago, my nipples are completely numb. I feel nothing :-( I miss the feelings i used to get SOO bad. If i coul take it all back i would keep my A cups for the old nipples i used to have. Please, if your considering a boob job, only get one!!

2 and a half years after small implants (175ml under muscle) I still don't have any feeling in my nipples or majority of my breasts. I love how my breasts look, but would probably not have had the operation if I knew how common loss of feeling really was. :-(

Sex life has gone downhill since. :'(

I had textured saline implants subpectoral through under the arm pit 5 years ago. The result numbness from 1/3 lower of the breast but the nipples are very sensitive.

2 years later, I noticed the sagging look around upper part of cleavage and lower outer side of breast then I decided to do silicon implants over the muscle.

The result is beautiful and natural looking breast and cleavage. The problem is, remember from my first surgery, 1/3 lower part of breast were numb? Now, the entire breast is numb except the outer corner on both side has sensation. My left nipples are semi sensitive, and the right side of nipple have no sensation at all. This is going to make my life really miserable.

I think the surgeons should be carefully inform such risk to patients. Patients should not experience this by surprising.

I am sorry to hear that your doctor did not inform you of the risks. It is not the way to find out, and so I'm sorry that you had to find out the hard way. Let us know if you need anything okay?

Hey girls,

I am so upset to see all of these posts about lost feeling! I had a breast enlargement in June of 2008. My nipples were super sensitive after surgery and the right side of my right breast was completely numb! A year later, the feeling has somewhat returned and my nipples aren't quite as sensitive, but it's still NOT the way it used to be. I feel like crying every night because I feel like I ruined my sex life. My nipples were very sensitive (in a good way) before the surgery, and now they just feel weird. I actually hate it when my boyfriend touches them which is sad because of course he wants to touch them! Most of all, I'm just really mad at myself for being so concerned with looks and attracting men that I just ignored the very obvious risks of losing my awesome nipple sensitivity! We all know that if men were offered a surgery that could enlarge their penises but that had even the smallest chance of making them lose feeling in it, they would definitely decline! It's sad that society and men are making girls feel so pressured to have perfect and large breasts because most of the time these surgeries go very wrong and a very important part of a woman's sex life and reproductive system is changed forever! My friend that had the surgery with me had to have a second surgery 6 months after the first one because one of her breasts never dropped down (it was way higher than the other one)! I have actually been trying to look up information about breast implant removal. I was hoping to find something that said I would have chance of regaining my sensitivity if I took the implants out. So far, I haven't found any such information. I think I screwed myself for life, unfortunately!

After reading through all these posts I'm unsure of whether to go ahead with my breast augmentation, but i'm only a tiny 32aa. Would you say that the possiblity of losing sensation is better if your more confident with your looks?

I am 48 and had silicone implants put in 22 years ago. I too, had total numbness in both breasts post surgery. My surgeon acted puzzled and said it was not common. He actually acted like I was making it up. I hate to tell you this but it took years to regain sensation and I still do not have feeling in the cleavage area. Luckily I mostly regained nipple sensation. In addition to the numbness I got bad scarring and hardening in a year or so after. I look ok dressed but kind of weird topless. (Fortunately my husband is sweet and very attracted to me anyway.) Recently I found out that my implants are leaking and I am having an auto immune response with very achy joints like arthritis and will have to have them out. I was not aware they would not last a lifetime (must have been in the fine print). From what I have read I will likely lose most sensation again which is very depressing but I can't live with the joint pain. As to whether I would do it again- sometimes I think no, but when I remember how bad I felt about my appearance and the teasing and pain I had experienced growing up I still understand why I did it. I had essentially no breast tissue at all and felt deformed. My advice to anyone thinking about doing this is to really consider your appearance honestly. If you breasts are what would be considered reasonably normal for your age I would say it is not worth it. Definitely do not do this in response to a bad relationship or because of someone being critical of your appearance. Spend time with people who love you for who you are.

I had a breast aug just over 5 months ago i woke up with a big bruise on my left boob and knew it wasnt right from the begining. Still after 3 months i was scared holding due to feeling like the implant is movin around. when i walk briskly or even running is worse still now it feels like its jiggling and juggling about.
But the numbness i have constantly is so strange im sure the nerves are dead. 3/4 is numb feeling should have regained by now surely.

I had BA about 2 1/2 months ago and i have sensation in my left nipple with no sensation in my right nipple. I have numbness on the botton 1/3 of both breasts so it is very bizarre to me that the left one retained it's sensitivity.

I had a breast augmentation 10 months ago. My entire breasts are numb. I can't feel them at all, and it has torn me apart. I am 24 years old and this was the WORST decision of my entire life. Anyone who has experience with this please contact me/reply to this thread. I am writing here because this is the number one site on search engines for "breast numbness after augmentation". Again, this is both of my entire breasts and the operation was 10 months ago. I had ~390 cc's submuscular crease insertion. I want to find anyone who has had this experience or knows anything about it. I feel very alone and I want people to know this CAN happen.

I had breast implants nearly 7 years ago and have no feeling in the bottom of my left breast, it will never come back but does not cause any problems as I am use to it!! I was told that it would more than likely come back within a couple of months but never did.
