So nice to see that I am not the only one with this problem! I am close to 6 months pregnant with twins and I have a large numb spot right under my breast bone. I also get pain there too. I just hope it goes away when the babies are born!

I asked my OB about the painful sensation under my right breast, and she explained it is ligament pain. The numbness I haven't asked ofr but I agree with others that it is probably the baby lying on some nerves or pushing them with her feer.

hi uhmm I'm in high school , actually a freshman in high school & I have lots of questions that need to be answered! Well , I've had sex one time one with my current boyfriend who I'm very in love with & he feels the same exact way about me . & when we did it , we had a condom & we didn't have sex for more than about 5 minutes , because it was hurting me & I began to bleed & that was towards the end of December like after Christmas & its now February, like the middle of it & my stomach has been experiencing that burning , type being on fire sort of , sensation & I have no idea what to think or do or say to anyone .. & I don't want to stress myself out & tell or ask someone for help & me not end up being pregnant & revealing that I've had sex what should I do !?

This feeling is so weird! I am 29 weeks and I've been feeling this for about two weeks. First under my right breast, now under the left! I am so glad we have forums like this to reassure us that nothing is wrong. I called my OB and they said with it not being where I am super stretching (being under boobs versus the belly) that it is strange and highly unlikely something to be concerned about. But alot of you have it in the same place, so I'm not crazy. :)

I'm 32 weeks and I have the same thing as well. My Dr told me that its normal its just where the baby has been sitting at which causes it to numb. So you girls have nothing to worry about its normal for that to happen. :)

It is actually baby pushing on some nerve. It is nothing to worry about as I am 33 weeks preganant and have experienced the numbness on my left side just near the rib cage. Please nothing to worry about. Congrats and may the good Lord richly bless you and grant you a safe delivery...

Thank goodness I found this site, I thought I was the only one! I've had pain under the right side of my ribs since week 22 (I'm 26 weeks now) and there's a numb spot at the same place. I asked my midwife and she seemed to have no clue what I was talking about and told me to "sit up straight". That doesn't help at all. The only thing that helps is lying down on my side. I wonder why medical professionals can't explain this, or at least offer some clues...

I had this with my first child and was never really concerned about it.  I am now 35 weeks pregnant with my second and it is much worse this time.  I asked my doctor what causes the numbness and she said it was my nerves that have stretched.  Mine occurs on my right side at the top of my stomach just below my boob.  If I do not rub it every so often it becomes extremely sore where the nerves/muscles have stayed in that expanded position for so long.  By the end of the day it feels like bee stings.  I often find myself resting my hand on the top of my stomach & pushing inward to relieve the symptoms.

I am only 16 weeks and experience this already! I don't see my doctor for another 3 weeks but at least so far it's not at all painful... Just an odd numb sensation on the right just under the low ribs.

I thought I would an offer an answer I haven't heard yet! I'm 29 weeks and have been experiencing the same thing!! A spot below my breast, beside my ribs, on the left side. It HURTS and the outside skin will go numb but I can still feel pain from the inside! It's burning, and stabbing. Sometimes I will feel bubbles almost like the way her kicks felt at 18-20weeks. Very light but def not my baby kicking. My doc said my intestines were pushed up above my uterus and that's what's causing it and there's nothing I can really do about it besides try some yoga to get baby to move from the left side because she said it's likely I only feel pain on the left because the bulk of baby is pushed to the left side and if guess putting pressure on the intestines!

I have had the same pain from pretty early this pregnancy. I know it is muscles but am wondering if anyone actually found relief by using a support band. I am feeling cheap and don't want to buy one if it won't do any good? Thoughts??
