I have it right now everyones sleepin and im in so much discomfort,I had a uti 3 weeks ago settled it then got flu and was given rulide and told it help make sure uti also gone, finished last rulide today and this started in afternoon, i did have se even though really was uncomfy and feared flaring up the uti but assumed the rulide would protect me,anyway I have downed 2 cranberry pills and water and now have cammomile tea, this comes about 4 times ayear and it sux whilst it here, this seems worst ever usually i go bathroom bed and sleep in a fe=w mins but tonight its so bad even sittin here feel im busting to go.I read somewhere some women get swollen prostate symptoms exactly like men and thats why it isnt showing as a uti in urine sample its infected tiny female prostate area something worth investigating
Bet65- women do not have prostates, so swollen prostate for women is kind of an impossibility
yes i know we dont have prostates like men I stumbled on the article and it mentions a minute sized female prostate look....http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1303542/
its worth investigating for women who have all the test come back clear but still suffer discomfort, it says in that article that its not widely known and looks easily treated with the same stuff used on men.I thankfully got to sleep last night and today am less irritated but regardless I am back up the doctors today for advice as I couldnt handle a 2nd night like that.
does anyone have any home remdies to help ease the symptoms?I dont drink dont smoke, dont have caffeine I do drink herbal teas and water and eat healthy. For me this comes on from me and the hubbys romantic adventures basically lol anyway hope the article helps somone

I'm so glad that the cranberry and chamomile tea are helping, I wish I had thought of that rather than putting all of my trust into the doctors right away, perhaps I wouldn't be in this mess if I had just taken things into my own hands right off the bat.
Thank you again for your reply!

Tea tree oil did nothing for me. The one thing that consistently worked was boric acid suppositories. Yes, odd, but I did SO much research and that was the one thing that has worked. I make them myself as the ones I used to buy from natural food stores changed the formula to something that did nothing for me. However, I find the boric acid can irritate my urethra, so it's kind of a catch 22. But when I get a really bad bout of yeast, I still use them.
The best thing I've found for the yeast is to reduce my sugar and wheat intake, minimize alcohol and take a LIVE acidophilus supplement. I feel like a commercial, but I've said on here many times that Jarrow's femdophilus capsules have really, really helped me while other probiotic capsules did nothing. I have also used them as suppositories and they really help without any of the irritation of the boric acid.
And btw- I feel you on the fear of sex thing. Honestly, it got so bad with the recurrent urethra pain and yeast that I just didn't want to have sex anymore. I'm actually afraid to start dating anyone for fear of what will happen once I have sex again. :(
I wish you the best of luck!

yes yes, be careful with tea tree, its antiseptic antifungal and if its too strong and not diluted it will sting, heres a webpage with the info on these...http://altmedicine.about.com/od/healthconditionsqtoz/a/yeast_infection.htm
its funny really us poor girls crave salty or sugary foods leading up to period time and sugar causes thrush, maybe stock the fridge during that time with grapes, strawberries bananas and any thing of the fruit and vegetable variety. Last night I had a salty craving but there was nothing at all to have so I settled for a hot cammomile tea another informative site about bladder infections is here http://www.thehealthierlife.co.uk/natural-health-articles/liver-kidney-urinary/beat-prevent-urinary-tract-infections-00157.html
Anyway ladies we all have the internet and its so easy to do some research about natural help notrymma if the past relationship was stressful as well it could mean once u find a good partner and feel happy you maybe wont get stress which inturn causes the sugary need as well as can fire up thrush or uti's.Plus my doctor said men not circumcised can cause us ladies to get these nasties as well, just an added thought lol

BTW- fruit can also increase yeast. ANYTHING with sugar, natural or not, feeds yeast. My doctor suggested I give up all sweet stuff, including fruit, for a period of time, but I couldn't do it. I LOVE sugar.

Hello,
I know this is over a year ago... but I hope you've found relief in the mean time.
I found I have the exact same symptoms due to food allergies. It's really difficult to recognize too, sometimes I can eat dairy/gluten/corn with no problems... sometimes I eat a bit too much or some combination (over the course of a few days,) and I'll have symptoms for days (sometimes.) The UTI like symptoms always seem to come and go in direct correlation with the "off the wagon" eating I do... It'll all depend on how much my body doesn't like what I'm eating and how long it takes to fully digest and expel whatever I shouldn't have eaten.
BTW when I did mention this to my doc, it wasn't well received... I got the usual, well, let me run some more tests first... I'm sure there's another explaination... etc, etc... Which is great! Thanks for being thorough... but over the course of three years, it's always linked to my eating habits.
I hope this helps some of you!! :)

The urologist carried out a 'urethral dilatation' procedure which involves inserting larger and larger tubes into the urethra to widen it slightly. This procedure destroyed the infected para-urethral glands and after suffering months of hell....it all went away. I just get very mild tenderness in the area if I don't drink enough.
It's definitely worth discussing this with your urologist if your UTI tests come back clear.
I found no natural remedies whilst I was suffering. I only noticed that the more time I spent sitting down, the more discomfort I had because I was effectively sitting on infected flesh (along with the pain passing urine).
