hi Kimberly

sex during different stages of the cycle will feel different, sometimes u can easily do it in a certain position then next time it causes lots of pain.If sex is dry and irritated with pain this then will cause the urethra to be inflamed, same as rubbing sandp[aper back and forth on ur finger for 30mins then it will take days to settle down, do u understand what I mean?being 100% sure in urself that u dont have an std doesnt mean u havent got one, chlamydia can cause these symptoms, so I hope u told ur dr u been having sex and got everything tested to be sure.Try wearing loose pants and sit back when u can not forward on the urethra area, drink loads of water, warm drinks help and always wash before and after sex and make sure to go to urinate after sex as well to clear that little passage. Its best till it completely settles to not actually have sex.

I find that really interesting that you mention that you had more pain after sitting for long periods of time. I have the same thing, and the minute I get up and walk around a bunch the pain goes away within minutes. I wonder if I have something similar. Granted I have had the dilation surgery as well (recently) so perhaps I"m still just healing, but I have all of the same symptoms you're describing.

hey Pantoof, yes sitting causes pressure on that area and depending on what clothing you have on can cause further pressure,I been wearing loose velvet tracksuits to work because my jeans I usually wear and sitting for up to 5hrs cause more discomfort. The surgery you had should heal quite quickly and alot of the pains and discomfort comes from us focusing on that so when your walking round, shopping or cleaning etc your not thinking about it plus the pressures off that area, anyway mine has been settle for a week now and all tests at dr were clear so hopefully its gone for a few months or more

ALL OF YOU need to go see a gyno and get a referral to a doctor who specializes in the Vulva. Look up the symptoms for Vulvar Vestibulitis, as this could possibly be the cause of your issues. It is a very easy condition to diagnose, there are just a lot of doctors who do not know enough about it. Find a vulva specialist and bring up your symptoms. It is NOT something that goes away on it's own. I have been dealing with Vestibulitis for a year now and it is definitely worth it to get checked out by a specialist.

Have you been to a urologist? I had the exact same it sounds like you have. Sex hurt, not having sex hurt, drinking too much water hurt, drinking too little water hurt, EVERYTHING HURT and no matter what I did, teas, medication, rest, hot baths, nothing helped. My doctor kept saying I had a "UTI" because the initial tests came back positive, they put me on a ton of anti-biotics which really messed up my system only to find out after the culture that I didn't have any bacteria in my urine. I finally gave up (after 2 years of, being put on anti-biotics for bacteria that WASN'T there) and went to a urologist. Turns out I had a Urethral Stricture, which basically means your urethra is too tight. Now depending on the degree of it, you can either have surgery to dilate your urethra (they basically stretch it to all hell) or, if it's really bad, you can have a stint placed inside of it which is basically a tube to keep it open. I went for the dilation surgery a month and a half ago, and it does take along time to heal (I feel like when I have to go I REALLY HAVE TO GO all of a sudden, and I always feel as though I'm on the verge of leaking (which I don't) but there's muscle exercises you can do to help that) but it sounds like that may be what you have. Does it get worse if you get cold? Mine always used to flare up massively when my feet, hands or ankle got cold.

Long story short, you should go to a urologist (your doctor can recommend one for you) to get more specific attention to the pain. I know what it is like, (I have a fiance who is still super frustrated with the whole thing, not because of lack of sex (although that doesn't help) but mostly because the doctors just don't seem to care) to have your life interrupted by something so ridiculous and so irritating that you basically can't go on living and enjoying life. I ended up going to a councilor to talk about it because I was so down and couldn't enjoy the simple things anymore.

We're all in the same situation and here to support each other. Hang in there and, although it's difficult, try to think positively about the rest of things that life has to offer.

I just went to urgent care yesterday for my issues as there were small amounts of blood in my urine that were visible. The doctor put me on 3 medications-- you need to be honest with your doctor about having sex if your parent was with you maybe it's time to tell them as well. You need to see a gynecologist as if there was no infection you may have something else wrong. Having sex is more than having sex and getting pregnant there's way more things that can come from it. Sex can naturally irritate the urethra which can lead to tenderness and soreness and even infection. Not peeing before and after sex can irritate. Having certain disorders as endometriosis can cause these issues as well as I found out yesterday-- if the 3 medications do not resolve my issue there could be something more serious going on. It's very important you talk to your doctor and your parents. Be 100% honest. Most importantly do not have sex when your having symptoms as it can irritate things further and that can be stopping the healing process. Tea water cranberry juice-- there's over the counter meds that turn your pee orange and red but they help with discomfort and pain while peeing. I hope this helps as I have been dealing with this for 6 months and was told they found no infection each time until yesterday I finally got meds and some great answers to my questions. Be safe!!

Pretty a lot of you have Interstitial Cystitis. I had the exact same symptoms and they kept saying it was a uti and then the culture comes back with no bacteria. Then I saw my urologist and figured out I have interstitial Cystitis. Now I'm on the right meds and had surgery to get an implant and now I'm living life with little pain. Just ask your doctor about it possibly being interstitial Cystitis.

I was ok a few days, maybe a week, no sex all week and then uncomfy feeling all yesterday, now the only few factors I see did this were, cold weather, wearing jeans and sitting nearly all day, but also for 3 days Ive had stressful events happen. Do you all remember as a little kid that when you had to stand up and read or perform in a play or whatever that nervous feeling,? made you wanna pee? I think yesterday the cold, jeans, sitting all didnt help but the stress and fear/worry was main factor.Regardless of the whys or how I didnt really get much water in my system whilst at the hospital sorting out my gravely ill father. Today so far is ok but I just got up.

Maybe all take notes, write a daily diary of what you drank, wore, how much stress, is it cold and even what part you are up to with period cycle.Oh and of course sex. Maybe see a pattern, trouble is once you get it then it seems to go on and on and on and most likely is alot of it in our own minds creating a symptom. Other then that theres many actual disorders that need to be investigated. Its tax time here and I do accounts so more stress today. lol I am drying my loose casual pants for work as noway am I sitting in proper pants all day today and flaring this up.Good luck all and please keep posting if anyone finds anything new to help

As I mentioned, as guest earlier -forgot to put a name dur lol my doctor has put me on meds it felt so good to get some questions answered, if meds to not fix this problem them gynecologist visits then urologist next. I am so happy they finally found something wrong with me as silly as that sounds! The medication is great, it basically "numbs" EVERYTHING I'm anxious to finish this script out so I can figure out if it's going to work or not. Hoping it does! Its nice being able to talk to those with the same issues-- hopefully we can all at least find a happy medium

ive heard of tramadol, alot of ppl cant take it, lots get the side effects, its an all round pain medication, I was precribed it before for my back, id like to get hold of that phenazopyrid it sounds like its what I need, this is mostly an irritation, my pee is clear no odour no stingy or burning, just irritation annoying feeling like need to pee as for the Nitrofuratin Ive never heard or it or any of its brand names, but I am in Australia so possibly different drugs or maybe not released out here, if its got sulpha at all well Im allergic to it, only things my dr gives for uti it amoxil clav duo forte, or keflex, i find keflex does the trick. Next visit i will be asking for the phenazopyrid to have handy in cupboard, dont care if me pee goes red lol
