I have just had my k wire removed and plaster taken off after having a osteotomy done 6 weeks ago. I can walk but no way do I have the same range of movement as before. I am worried as I have to return to work in 2 weeks time and am on my feet all day. I hope that your foot got better over time.

I had this surgery in 2006 - worst mistake of my life! I have never recovered full range of motion in my left toe - excruciating pain occurs at times with zero forewarning if I attempt to step forward normally - there is no way to know when it'll happen but when it does it's bad enough to drop you - my surgeon was horrible - I got infection from the 'dissolvable' stitches and my recovery took 6 months before I could wear proper shoes and several years before I could wear 'platform' heels - which were a graduated form of my previous high heels. I was unable to resume my exercise program (the aerobics portion" for 8 months. I would definitely recommend against this surgery for those that are considering it - Drs definitely downplay recovery time. Sorry JBirchett48 but I don't think you'll ever get full motion back without instances of pain like mine.

I have bunion surgery three yrs ago ad well. My left foot was done four yrs ago and healed perfectly fine. The right foot was three yrs ago and although my doc says I healed great and everything looks good, I still suffer from pain and stiffness. I've had cortisone shots and it's not working. Please keep posting updates as I'm curious to see how well your revision surgery is. I'm not sure what to do St this point. However, wanted you to know that you're not alone and what you're feeling .... Others can relate.

Happy holidays

I had bunion surgery 12 yrs qgo and have had pain ever since. Im sorry i had the surgery. The doc sqys all is ok but i know how it hurts and burns, and aches and feels cold but in reality it isnt cold to touch. Good luck with healing. My life style has really been affected by this. Before surgery i was very active and walked , did aerobics etc. Now im lucky if i can walk for 20 minutes at a time.

I had surgery 20 years, ago both feet, both sides at the same time. Lately I have been having stiffness and pain on both my big toes? Not sure what to do. Doctor said it was arthritis, and don't know if it can be helped.

I too had bunion surgery a little over a year ago and went to physical therapy and got full range of my toe back, the only issue I am having is continued pain in my whole foot as well as extreme muscle tightness on the inside of my foot adjacent to my bunion. Will this ever get better??

I had a bunenectomy 2 years ago and then a pin removed last year and am in so much pain I can hardly stand it. I can hardly work or do anything and I wonder if I will ever be pain free. I am worse off since the surgery! My doctor has done X-rays and MRI but can't figure out what is wrong and says it's just my fibromyalgia but I don't hurt anywhere else like my foot hurts. It's so horrible and I am at a loss!

I am having the same issues after the Austin type bunion surgery. I cannot bend my big toe. It is suspended upwards and I feel like a golf ball lump on the ball of my foot. It hurts so bad to try and bend and I can not walk very well let alone run. I ran 15 miles a week before surgery and now I can barely walk. I'm so sad that I may not ever be the same.
