As normal male, the left testicle hangs lower. The Epididymis on the testicle when ' for me' when I sit ends up being rested on and with in a few minutes this ache will follow that will last for the day. Kind of the recovery time pain of a boot to the balls. Hence "Boxer shorts" Driving can be agony so reajusting my junk can alliveate some of this issue. I have confermed triggering this just by supporting at the "Epididymis" location for a few moments and the pain goes thru the groin area. I find myself scooting forward on chairs so things can hang. The time period causes (20 minutes?) the mind to run that there is a problem and not putting a finger on it (This is what I did to support the testicle at the Epididymis location to trigger the pain so no pun intended (ha ha)) causes anxity wondering whats going wrong hence running back and forth to these non divulgent doctors. (They have house payments too...) Also COMFORTABLE clothing that wore great ONCE before wash then you need a shoehorn to get back into.. Too tight, heat from heavy clothes, getting old, and of course all that money these insurance and doctors need...

I had the same thing as everyone else here. My doctor told me the reason i cant pinpoint the pain is because the nerve that runs at the bottom of the spine and into the testicular area is aggrevated and it is "radiating" into my testicle region. comes from swelling in the lower back muscle squeezing the nerve against the spine.

Basically, she said to take aleve with food 2x per day for 2 weeks and work on sitting and with better posture to relieve the pressure on the lower back and to sleep on my side too... with pillow between my legs---- thats why it hurts while your sitting and not standing... your weight shifts from your lower back to your hips and knees when you are standing up- hence no pressure on that nerve. Hope this helps all of you guys.

I'm 15 and over weight spite my best efforts. My left one is sore when walking or touched. When i sit and even squat it doesn't hurt. It isn't a constant pain and even will go away after i sit down for a bit. Any clues? my hope is its not twisted or anything because it has done this before just not to the same extent as it has today. If it increases or remains i will see what te doctor has to say.

I have the same exact issue. It just started and I went to doctors for a hernia test which came back negative. The doctor suggest that it could be a strain in my testical/groin area. She's givin me some anti inflammatory medicine to try to reduce any swelling in that area. I'm hoping this helps me !

Hey,

Another person saying "same thing." I am 19, and this has been going on for atleast a year i cant even be certain. My left groin/testicale hurt at random times, but most often during after work outs. It has been very frustrating because I have been very engaged in sports my whole life. I was 15 and went to national power lifting competitions, deadlifted 405.

Then one time i was doing a work routine when i might have been 17. It consisted of doin sit ups, and then boxing with four lb weights to improve quickness. I was by myself, and all the sudden I blacked out and fell backwards. Next thing i know im awake and in pain. I let it settle down, and i was able to function again but never the same.

Six months later I was racing some people across a field, and had a similar experience with a little less pain. It goes through a cycle of kind of settling down, but work outs are excruciating. I use to run 5k, but now find it difficult to run a mile.

Im afraid to see a doctor. I figure i have to have surgery, but i live on my own have no insurance and it plain flat out sucks. I just want it to end so i can be completely active again.

anything that helps?

Just found this post on the Web and finally I know I am not going insane.
I have been suffereing from the same symptoms for months now and after several visits to the Docs and some scan I am no closer to an answer.
I have just had 2 weeks break for Xmas Holidays where I have been relaxing not driving and sitting in comfy sofa's and it definatley helped, I am now back at work and after 1 day of driving and sat down at a desk I am now again in alot of discomfort. I am taking Diclofenac Sodium but I do not think this is helping at all. I am thinking it is a major groin strain but can not say for sure and hopefully will get another scan done soon and then off to see a Urologist but after reading some of the other posts I am now not so sure this is going to help.
Anyone got any advice? I am used to doing alot of Sport and not being able to Cycle or swimming is murder to me after competing in Amateur Tri's for the last 3 years.

No-one here seems to have posted a soltuion to how they overcame it but I will.

I first had the problem a week after I had been working out at the gym (I think deadlifts where to blame). A week after I had taken a break I got intense lower ab pain and left testicle pain. It eventually went away of its own accord.

4 weeks later I'm on a walk in the countryside and it came back and the pain remained for five days driving me crazy.
The doctor examined me and told me he thought it was groin strain and was positive it wasn't cancer or a hernia (no lumps and he made me cough and drop)
I was worried because it was getting more and more painful (although the lower abs weren't hurting anymore just my left testicle).
My PT at the gym advised me to see a physio which I did and he believed it was a back problem.
I was dubious because my lower back felt fine (even though I have had lower back trouble all my adult life) I had no current pain in it.
He said someone came to him with the same issue and had endured it for three YEARS.
He had an operation and allsorts to get rid and it was still there.
He went to see the phsycio and he got rid of it in two sessions.
So I went and the guy gave me a deep DEEP massage. It was agony and my back was so bruised but the next day the pain had faded to just a little bit of pressure. I'm going again on Monday and hopefully that will nail it on the head.

Try the physio route just because you dont have back pain doesn't mean it isn't back related. Turns out I had a trapped nerve in my vertabrea which was causing the pain.

Hi Eric,

Your condition sounds very similar to mine. Mine started a day after a run and a workout. I am really struggling with it over the last 2 months.

Have you had anymore success with the physio?

Are they massaging your back or groin etc.

Any suggestions?

cheers

I've had two physio sessions now and the pain has diminished but also moved at first it was in the lower left testicle now it's moved to the left of my left testicle and slightly above it into my lower abs I also feel like I'm busting for a whizz sometimes too.

On the session the physio doesn't go near my groin he just gives me a deep back massage and by deep I mean DEEP; he leans his 16 stone frame onto his elbow and drags it along my spinal column I can feel it going along every bit of my vertabrae. He also rubs deep heat in to my back. It's not pleasent but just endure it.

The physio guy told me it's like toothache pain you can't pinpoint precisely where it's coming from and that's what it's like, a toothache but in my testicle.
He told me if you have a pain like that on your body chances are it's a trapped nerve.
He showed me a diagram where certain nerves in your back come around your waiste and terminate in your groin and testicles.

I'm pretty sure it's my back because before I went to see the physio I did some lower back exercises which eased the pain a little.
Try doing these:

1. Get on all fours with your knees on the floor. Arch you back like a cat would do, hold it for ten seconds then drop your belly to the floor (so basically your arching and slumping your back) put a bit of pressure on it when you do.
3x

2. Curl up into a ball and hug your knees to you chest wrap your arms around them and pull them right in. Then arch your head fowards as far as you can.
3x

3. Bit hard to explain. Lie on your back flat on the floor, now bring your knees up and let them lie on the floor to one side at a 90 degree angle your body now keep your knees to the side and turn your upper body in the opposite direction and lean the other way (as though you where trying to twist in two) I find this hard to do so I grab onto something and pull myself the other way. If you haven't done this one before you may feel you spine crack a little (but that's always good news).
1X Either side 20-30 seconds each.

Also try putting an icepack or bag of frozen peas on your lower back and leave it there for twenty mins every two hours.

You'll know if it's your back cause after the stretches you should feel a difference. The pain doesnt go away completely but it does ease up a little.
Mine had gotten to the point where it was always sore even touching my nut made it ache, at first sitting down was painful and then walking too. Now I forget it's there until I fiddle with it to see if it still hurts (not in that way) which it does a bit.
After I did the stretches I felt an immediate relief from the pain and I could walk without discomfort again.

if this improves things you need to go to a sports Physio or at least a phsyio who understands the condition. The guy I spoke to instantly knew what it was and had cured someone else of it before. If the physio is scratching his head, find someone else.

I'm also booked in for a scan on the 26th of feb down there they're doing an ultrasound just to be safe.

I think it's getting better but I'll keep you updated when and if it goes.

I really wish other people could have put there own solutions on I'd hate for someone to have an unneccesary operation.
I think a lot of people get is sorted and forget to let the rest know. They forget there's some scared and depressed people out there suffering from this annoying thing.

Good luck all.

Well now the pains more or less gone. I have one more session in a fortnight but that seems to have fixed it all.

Give a physio a go. And make sure they understand it isn't something in the groin that needs attention it's the back.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the posts. Its great to see someone with some answers, not just a forum full of questions.

I went to the physio for the first time today and he started stretching out my back. Will suggest the deep tissue to him on my next visit. Fingers crossed.
