I just found the same lump on my cheek right near my ear. It is sore to the touch but otherwise does not hurt. My doctor says it is a sslivory gland. I'm on keflex for 14 days. If it doesn't go away by then, he will biopsy if for salivory cancer. I'm praying it goes away. Good luck to everyone. I hope my diagnosis helps someone.

I am also experiencing this. Feels like a small, round, hard lump and is so painful. I also have recurring problems with a molar on the same side, so it probably is due to infection. I drink coffee and eat chocolate which I know is not goof for my health. Time to do a detox and get healthy!

!Can anyone tell me of my about this cause I'm freaking out....I have a big lump in front of my ears on both sides it got swollen yersterday n they are big n hard but on both sides it sucks n I'm thinking the worst now :-( they are in front of my ears n by the side of my jaw where the joint starts. Plus HELP!

Hey guys,

I've come to check online that it was a lymph node, only because I did have a cancerous lymph node called Lymphoma. Its been about 15 years since they removed the glands from underneath my neck, and I have a swollen one as you have all described, in front of the ear connecting to the jaw.

I'm sure I'll be reassured at the doctors this is just a occurrence of a swollen node but never not have it checked in. Just in case.

I have a lump on my head near the front of my ear and its painful. It gives me massive headaches and no one can seem to figure out what it is. I will be going to the docters soon as it hasnt died down despite the fact that i left it alone.

My chil just notice one near her right ear. I'm not guessing. Taking her to Doctor ASAP. Better to be sure all is well

It may be an ear infection for your child. The lymph nodes will swell when they have one. I myself have one but for a different reason. But children mostly get them from ear infections.

I was lifting weights and felt some pain on left side of neck, the next day i got a big bump and i contmtinued to work out for 4 days and the bump is like a grape size, could i have busted a vein or tore a muscle

Ok. You have the very same symptoms I have. Lump, itching in ears which feels like my ears are on fire inside. Did you find out what it was. I had a CT scan and now they want to do a biopsy. Very scared.

I also noticed a small pea sized lump right in front of my ear and where my jaw bones connect. I have been concerned that it could b e a tumor caused by cell phone use as this is the ear I hold my phone too often for work. After reading the other posts above on this ear lump issue, I am hoping just a swollen lymph node which would make sense because I am suffering from a very painful incest or spider bite right above my temple on the same side of my face as the lump in front of my ear. I actually think its a black widow bite (they are everywhere this time of year where I live!). I, therefore, could expect a swollen lymph gland reaction? Wasn't sure which bump one to be more concerned about since either could potentially be life threatening. Really grateful to have found this forum. To be safe, if this nodule in front of my ear gets worse or goes away and returns, I will be getting some diagnostic imaging to make sure it is not cancer. You know your body. Follow your gut and play it safe.

I had this same lump in front of my ear, followed by scalp sensitivity and painful to touch, followed by shingles on my head and face!
