I was diagnosed with an infected sebaceous cyst about 2" from my anus. Noticed it 2 months ago and had no pain. It then became painful to sit and walk. Antibiotic prescribed and 7 days later I thought it was gone. It has returned and is more painful. Stronger AB prescribed and soaking also. 1 day in on meds and if this pain gets worse, I'm going back to Dr.

I have a cyst located near by tailbone, so it's inbetween my butt chicks. The pain started this past Saturday. But it wasn't until Monday that I wanted to bawl my eyes out! I could hardly walk. When I would eat it had to be standing up. Sleeping was the most painful part. It hurt so much just to turn. Walking helped, just for a little bit. But after that the area turned red and the skin was hard to press on. It just popped today (Tuesday) on its own. Wondering if it's okay to keep cleaning the area myself. Or see a doctor. I still feel some pain. But i move more freely than before. And the skin around is still hard. Suggestions?

hey me too exactly! so do they put u out to do the surgery? it hurts so bad I'm going crazy! nothing I do is helping even to jus ease the pain not ibuprofen heat nothing. do u think they will at least give me pain meds to get me thru this??

I left out that I had actually left on a heating pad on the area.
I ended up going to the doctor. I kept running fevers since day one. My main priority was to get strong antibiotics to be on the save so that the area of the cyst would get infected. Simply because of the area it was.
I ended up having a pilonidal cyst. Doctor said the safest bet on a cyst would be to get it removed through surgery. Since they have to remove the pocket that created the cyst.
Since the cyst had already popped. We had it drained a bit more. Let's just say that was painful and disgusting!
Did get my antibiotics and as well as gauze to change and clean the area. since the puss was still draining out. (Insert ewe face!)

Check with your doctor to make sure it is a cyst. Hospital bills are not cheap at all! Specially when you have no medical insurance like myself.
I wish I would have asked those questions. But since I got my drained it totally flew by.
I did had a friend who had a cyst near the lower abdomen ( close to the ovaries I would say). I went with her to get her cyst removed. She went in and walked out within less than two hours. The area where they did the surgery on was left open apparently it had popped on it's own or something like that. So they left it open for her to change the gauze inside I guess the "pocked" area every couple of hours.
Dont really remember all the details, this was 3 years ago. And in boot camp.

I have one right now and it is my second one and it hurts a lot I cut my first one open and had the sack pulled out and packed for 3 weeks now I have one in the crack of my butt and man it hurts a lot and I need to have it done again boy this is going to suck again

I would not be embarrassed mine is between my left gluteral and leg, where the elastic for my underwear rubs. I seem to get it every year for a bit but it has now been over a year. Surgeon told me I would be on confined for a few weeks and since I am a caretaker I am trying to see him get better. I was given a pair of knit underpants so there would be no running but have to come up with something that holds pad or can place to prevent ANY friction

Hi I actually had what was a pyl cyst but after removal was a sab. Cyst. Glad I got it done but healing process takes a long time. I still haven't healed and it's been over a year. Needed to get it removed.

Soak in empsoms salt. 20 to 30 min do not poke it like I did. If cyst persists go to a surgeon. I know it's hard but needs to be done

I actually had mime on my butt also. It was very painful so I know what you are going through. I had mine surgerily removed at 2 o'clock this morning. Its a little painful but it feels a lot better. The surgery lasted about 4 minutes. I hope you feel better like I do now.
