Hi , I understood your problem. There can be many reasons behind painful urination post surgery. 1) Mucosal rupture in the urethra due to improper scope insertion , 2) Improper Catheter insertion. If you are experiencing this with HEMATURIA that is with a little amount of blood in the urine , you probably need to consult your doctor for treatment. This condition is generally seen in very less number of patients post surgery , however it is advised to consult your doctor once. If there is a rupture or wound formation while inserting or removing of scopes the condition may even get worse. Follow the medication prescribed and wait for a couple of days. Donot undergo self medication as this may / maynot provide you the right results.

Prostate size of 186 CC is a very big tissue that obstructs the urine, since you had an obstruction all these days and suddenly a channel has been created your body is actually not trying to withhold the capacity that it used to do earlier. That is the main reason for this problem and little amount of mental readiness is required to avoid this situation that you should try to withhold it not for too long but for some time atleast. If you meet a physio therapist for pelvic floor exercises even that could be of some help. Rest of the tissue can be vapourised in a couple of sittings and once you are free of the whole tissue , you may need to put in more efforts to control and withhold urine for sometime before it rushes out. Painful urination will be experienced becaused half vapourised tissue is nothing less than a ruptured wound and will lead to painful urination. On the advise of doctor if prescribed you may as well use some medicines to relieve pain.

yes ofcourse , things will improve . Partial impotency is seen in few men post surgery . But things will improve soon because the site at which PROSTATE TISSUE has been vauporised/RESECTED needs to get weel first before all things to get back to normal. Once it is normal and you are on regular medications as prescribed by the doctor you will see improvement.

I am in my sixth week following Thulium LASER enucleation. I am having more pain on urination than immediately after the procedure. Stream is not as strong as immediately after the procedure. Urgency has improved, but is still there. Also having retrograde (dry) ejaculations. 150g of prostate was removed. Looking here hoping to see dome guys reporting that the pain goes away eventually, as well as the urgency and leakage. Have follow up with Doc in a week.
