Hi everyone,im new to this site, and im here because ive had three repairs in the last 18 months,im from England uk and i initially had a posterior repair,i begged the consultant to tighten my vagina during the op,as it was embarresingly loose, after the op she told me i had a designer vagina, however this was far from the truth,if anything it was looser but she refused to do anything else,i also have urge incontinence and tablets were not helping, she said i could get a second opinion, but all the surgeons in the hospitals in my area would agree with her and i wouldnt get further surgery, she told me to increase the dosage of my bladder tablets, but didnt check my file,so when i got home i saw i was already on the highest dose.My only option was to to see my GP and ask for a referal to another hospital in a different town,i got this and the new surgeon agreed that things down there were still quite roomy, she agreed to do a repeat repair as well as a perineoraphy,i still had no luck following this op because she didnt re do the whole posterior wall again, only an inch into the entrance,it was useless,no improvement to the tightness at all,and as for the bladder, she tried a different tablet, which didnt work.I returned to see her Dec 2012 in great distress, i explained how humiliated i felt in front of my partner, when after 2 ops i was still so loose and over lubricated which made things worse in the intimacy department, and most of the time he couldnt climax because i had no vaginal grip,i told her i would sign a disclaimer in my own blood if she would just tighten me up,to my surprise she agreed and 4 weeks ago 28th Jan 2013 i had anterior, posterior repairs and perineoraphy i wont know if its tight enough untill i can try it out in a couple of weeks and im scared to my wits end in case it isnt because this is the last surgery she can do.Unfortunatly my bladder is still a cause for concern,i agreed to try Botox and now i cant seem to get rid of the dreaded catheter, theyve took it out 4 times since the op and i just couldnt pee,im back at the hospital on Sunday 10th march to try again and may have to learn to self catheterise till it settles down.Ihave never had much physical pain following these ops and had catheters with the 2 previous surgerys which came out the day after and caused no problems,it seems the botox has over relaxed the muscles so i would warn other people of this danger because there is no antidote to botox it can take up to 9 months to wear off, i only hope mine is ok much sooner than that, best wishes and a speedy recovery to anyone reading this in the future.

Hi there, I'm one week post Full LAVH, Bilateral salpingo Oophorectomy , I had anterior and posterior prolapse repair, a bladder sling (Transvaginal tape) fitted and an old episiotomy repair. I was supposed to be in hospital 1 day! When I came round from the anesthetic I did not have a catheter in so I had to get up and go to the toilet. I realised that I couldn't complete the task so a catheter was fitted that night, I emptied 1.3ltrs immediately!! The next morning the catheter was removed only to find that yes.....I could pee but only 100mls each time.....again, after being in excruciating pain, like I was going to burst....another catheter was fitted! The 3 following days were the same! By having the catheter fitted and taken out, fitted and taken out over and over was making my swelling and discomfort 10 time worse! My surgeon, whom I have seen since my surgery I might add.......said,"Send her home, she'll be fine once the swelling goes down. We need the bed!" So consequently, I was sent home with instructions to go to emerge if I had anymore problems! I was terrified! Anyway, to cut a very long story short I went home and had the same problem but I think because I knew I was alone and I had to deal with this, I managed slowly but surely to almost get back to normal. Is still can't empty properly and I feel like the sling is too tight as it hurts and I always feel the need to urinate. However, I will persevere because I think that each day the swelling is going down slightly and I'm starting to see a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. I think that it is possible that you are just too swollen and you will just have to 'go' little but often! Good luck! Ooops, just noticed when you wrote this! Maybe you could email me and let me know the outcome!

Hi, I also JUST had my A&P and Vaginal Partial hysterectomy July 11, 2019
I had an epidural for freezing my waist down. I was asleep before my feet hit the stirrups. I had my heparin shots in my belly. I had my catheter out the next day and peed an our later had no problems or issues with bladder. I haven't had much pain mostly discomfort a lot of gas on the 4th day lasted 2 days. Ice packs help, a squeeze bottle with bent nozzle for cleaning your rectum and vaginal outside only parts Instead of wiping. Sleeping Is hard as I am usually a left side sleeper. It hurt to sleep that way even with ice packs. I went to the laundry mat, but my husband did the work I helped insert the coins lol then sat back in the car with my seat tilted back and my ice pack on my belly. I have been doing pretty good so far. My Swelly belly has gone down now its been exactly a week today . I was given naproxen for pain and Tylenol. I turned the naproxen down as it made my stomach queazy, Still a little discharge but very little bleeding. I walk a lot around my apartment sleep when tired. Feeling pretty good with each day that passes.

Sorry to hear about the luck you ladies are having or had. I had my partial vaginal hysterectomy, and Anterior and posterior vaginal repair done on the 11th of July, I had the catheter out in 24 hours and I went an hour later to empty. I had cramping but very little bleeding, I had injections of heparin in my belly and was given Tylenol and Naproxen for pain. I was sent home on Saturday the 13th. I have been taking it easy. 3 days after being home I stopped taking Aleve as I didn't need any pain meds. I feel pretty good with very little bleeding still. I am not sure if my surgeon put my bladder in a sling or not. I hope so. I see him again Aug. 12. I will be asking. The odd time I get cramping also I am taking a stool softener so my bowels ae easier the first one was soo painful. Not any more its been 2 weeks now. I am starting to walk around more without over doing it.

I had partial hysterectomy and now I bleed every now and then, but not a lot, just like spotting, or when I go to clean myself when I pee. Why?
