hi there ive been on paxil for about a year now 30 mg. And it seems to be doing me well. Ive done alot of things that my anxiety has never let me do before, thats a plus! But there are things that im still incapable of doing. I know that paxil is only a "tool" to HELP you deal and move forward, But im wondering could it get better if i upped the dose...? or worse even...if i decide to come off it eventually.?
so it would be great if someone could tell me their thoughts on it.. good or bad. the dose they took and how it affected their lives. thank you.

Are you on the generic paxil? Im trying to get off of it im gaining too much weight are you gaining weight? I would not increase the dose i got sick when i did that im on 10 mgs now and want to be on zero. any ideas anyone?
Generic yes. I am also gaining alot of weight while being on this. But its only ever since ive upped my dose to 30 mgs instead of 20 :-( thinking maybe i should go back to 20 because of it... but im not sure if ill "feel " better with a lower dose :-(
All I can say is you will gaing weight no matter what dose u are on. im finally off it i weighed in at the doctor yesterday at 170 40 pounds over weight and feeling like a FAT PIG.
One of the side affects of Paxil is gain of weight. There are a lot of other side affects but this is most common. If you are considering to get of Paxil you might switching to fluoxetine. It has a longer half-life and thus decreases the severity of discontinuation syndrome.
Did any of you had any other side affects from Paxil?

Generic Paxil (can't recall the name) gave me a teriffic headache and did not help my depression at all. I have known a few people that can take the generic I'm just not one of them.
Several years ago my GP switched me to Paxil CR which is a time released formula. This has did me the most good. I feel it stays regulated in my system better.
Yes Paxil, as with any other anti-depressant, will cause weight gain.
It's a no win situation...treat depression and be miserable (depressed) because of weight gain or be depressed. Go figure?!

I am just weaning off of Paxil, after gaining 60 pounds in 7 months. What SSRI's should I look into trying next that are fit for bipolar people, and do not cause weight gain? (And do not suppress libido?)
