Hi I'm a 19 year old woman and about 2 years ago I was diagnosed with "borderline" PCOS (my gynecologist couldn't say whether I had it or not), and have had spontaneous, heavy bleeding between periods. I am on the pill, and have been since I was 13, and do tend to skip my periods quite a bit (due to the fact that I have this spontaneous bleeding all the time and can't bare to have anymore bleeding). It usually lasts a day or two and is highly embarrassing as I am never prepared for it. I have a BMI of 23 (I think this is normal), I've been a vegetarian for 4 years and have no abnormal/excessive hair growth. My grandmother has type 2 diabetes because of her weight, but both of my parents are slim. I don't have typical PCOS symptoms but I am wondering if any owithin information is contributing to my abnormal bleeding or does it sound like something else? Should I ask my doctor about an Implanon or another type of contraception?
