This is my opinion and advice. I had this problem twice its from switching between toothpastes and mouthwashes that is not if the same brand and some are harsh because of the treatment it is for. Peroxide and baking soda and tartar control is to me is harshes one it is for someone who does not take care of their teeth and have bad tartar and gintivitis. Someone who brushes everyday and have no build up this will strip the skin thats all it could do there is no gintivitis or tartar to strip away its too strong. Sadly there is not many plain toothpaste for people who just wanna keep their teeth clean there are too many added on agents. I mean if you have the gingivitis its best to not keep using after healing it can destroy the teeth.
The only thing I could say is its the toothpaste and mouthwash it is too harsh. The mouthwash and toothpaste rinses the mouth too much causing the mouth to dry out probably and the glands probably do not produce enough saliva quickly to cover the mouth and teeth causing dry mouth. The good bacteria is being rinse out of mouth as well try brushing once a day in the morning and rinsing mouth with water after eating (rinsing mouth during day can help hydrate the mouth) do not forget to drink water. Medicine and illnesses and hormones not enough food sleep and water can cause dry mouth which can cause mouth and lip irritant. Spicy food and salty food and sour/vinegar food too much of can cause this too. Too much sweets can do this too syrup, candy, hot sour sweet candy as well. Try plain yogurt with probiotics. This could be candida which is yeast. Most of all talk to a professional like your doctor.
Do not forget to floss bacteria between teeth can buildup and when toothpaste pushes this bacteria out mouth can become infected rinse the mouth with mouthwash and then rinse mouth with cool water (No luke-warm or hot water) and swish around and repeat to remove the extra mouthwash toothaste from mouth and swish cool water to stop the gums and teeth from bleeding. If your mouth is bleeding swish with coldwater and a teaspoon of mouthwash sinse blood can carry bacteria and human carcinogens.
Becareful rinse your mouth carefully do not leave toothpaste mouthwash even blood or food particles sit in your mouth it can all turn into bacteria easily.

Peeling in mouth on my cheeks only. I have acid reflux and use Listerine and have for years, but suddenly this happened. Could I just suddenly become allergic to the Listerine with alcohol in it?

If I eat anything that contains vinegar, salad dressing, condiments, etc., lips & mouth will start to peel. I will also start chewing my lips and cuticles, but it is not a habit...as soon as I stop eating anything with vinegar, I stop. As for toothpastes, I use Tom’s of Maine Children’s fluoride free silly strawberry. Anything with mint or fluoride tends to make it all worse. I was diagnosed with peri-oral dermatitis (itchy rash around the mouth) 15 years ago, but it has not returned after removing mint and fluoride from my routine. Interestingly, 50mg of doxycycline which I was given originally for the peri-oral dermatitis works for this too, and I will have no peeling while taking it, but sadly it does return within weeks of stopping. Hope this helps some of you out there!
