My mother is 56 years old and he has just returned from the doctor. Unfortunately, the news are not that good, she has been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. She is using pentosan as a pain reliever now and I hope that drug will help her. What can you tell me about it?
I think that you do not have to worry that much. Pentosan polysulfate sodium is a drug specially designed for that illness. It is also said that it has shown mild blood clot prevention activity. There are, unfortunately, some bad side effects that might occur (gum bleeding for example). If anything like that happens, she must go and see her doctor again.
