I too am two weeks late, i haven't changed any meds i'm on, i've taken three hpt's and they are all coming up negative..i have one child and i found out i was pregnant with him before my missed period and i feel pregnant i'm extremly nauseaus my boobs hurt like hell and i keep getting cramps but no period..i've called my doctor and the only thing she said is to come in and get blood tests done they can find pregnancy through blood easier than urine dips..and they also said that it is easier to find out if it's not pregnancy and it's just an underlying condition by coming in so my advice is to just go in to the doctors and let them find out what is wrong...i am doing it today and if it is just some weird disorder or something i will let u all know

I was feeling like I was getting my period for about a week, more like I HAD my period, but there was no blood.
I had this horrible pressure feeling for over a week.
I finally went to the doctor, and he said it is normal for someone who is over-weight and who does not get their period regularly, to experience period symptoms without actually bleeding. Also, if you have PCOS it is also common, which is something I have, and I didn't think I was pregnant because I had been trying for over a year with no luck.
On my way home, however, I stopped off at the grocery store and picked up a cheapo pregnancy test, just in case, and I just knew it would come out negative, as did all the other hundreds of tests I have taken in my past.
*drum roll please*
I AM PREGNANT, currently 11 weeks, I was 4 when I tested, which I didn't know because I hadn't had my period for MONTHS before I tested.
So I would recommend to anyone experiencing these symptoms, just go see your PCP. He'll take blood tests and help you figure it out.

The pattern of a womans menstrual cycle can be disturbed by physical or emotional upsets, stress or changing the method of contraception. An IUD or contraceptive pill may cause spotting between periods and an IUD can cause heavy bleeding. Small bleeds known as breakthrough bleeds are common when first starting to use the contraceptive pill. They are normally lighter and shorter than normal periods, and usually stop within the first few months.
A disturbance in the balance of oestrogen and progesterone, which regulate the menstrual cycle is a common cause of irregular periods. Hormone imbalance can occur as a result of weight loss or gain, heavy exercise, stress or illness.
Irregular bleeding is normal and common for a few years after puberty and before the menopause when there may be a hormone imbalance. The menstrual cycle may become either longer or shorter, and the periods may become lighter or heavier. There may be a change in the length of menstrual cycle and/or amount of blood loss. Another reason for irregular periods during these times is that the ovaries are not producing an egg every month. Irregular bleeding can also be due to unsuspected pregnancy, early miscarriage or disorders of the womb or ovaries.
A thyroid disorder is another possible cause of irregular periods. (The thyroid gland produces hormones which maintain the bodys metabolism.) The doctor may test for a thyroid problem by checking the levels of thyroid hormones in the blood.
Medical history, method of contraception and age are all taken into account when determining the cause of irregular bleeding. A pregnancy test and ultrasound scan may be recommended to confirm a possible pregnancy, particularly if pain is also present (indicating possible ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage).
Bleeding with intercourse or heavy bleeding between periods very occasionally indicates cancer of the cervix or womb and can be diagnosed by examination and biopsy. Tests may include colposcopy, direct examination of the vagina and cervix, and a pelvic scan. This can be either a CT-scan or MRI scan.
Treatment is dependent on the reason for irregular periods. If the recent fitting of an IUD is causing irregular bleeding which does not settle within a few months, it may be wise to discuss removing it and changing to another method of contraception.
If irregular bleeding started with introduction of a new contraceptive pill, changing to one of the many other types may be recommended.
Treatment for hyperthyroidism (over-active thyroid) involves medicines that inhibit the production of thyroid hormones, radioactive iodine therapy, or surgical removal of part of the thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid) requires replacement therapy with the thyroid hormone, thyroxine. The menstrual cycle should return to normal after these treatments.
Irregular periods are common during puberty or nearing menopause, therefore no treatment is usually necessary.
If unpredictable menstrual cycles are causing problems conceiving a baby, treatment with synthetic hormones may be necessary to achieve regular ovulation.
Stress or sudden weight loss may be diagnosed as a cause of irregular periods and women may be referred for relaxation techniques, stress management or counselling.
If cancer is diagnosed, treatment or surgery will be specific to the type of cancer found.

Oh dear! Im panicing like crazy! I have been pregnant before and I had the pregnancy terminated. After that I started getting the 12weekly injection to make sure it didn't happen again but after breaking up with my long term partner I came off the injection. Since then I have had 3 equally spaced, normal period. Now I'm 12days late and I did have unprotected sex. I did a hpt but was negative. I don't think Im stressed about anything but not sure if I'm maybe just worrying about it too much and hoping to be pregnant (have realized I made a mojor mistake last time). I just hate not knowing. Ive had all the signs of a bad period for the last 10days... back pain, swollen tender breasts (esp. nipples) bloating, exhaustion... but no bleeding! After what I did I feel ashamed going to my Doc's to tell her I myt be. Plz HELP!

This feels so much better glancing at the smae problem that we're all having. I've had my cramps, my moodiness, had my weird juice cravings, but no cycle!! Me and my boyfriend are extremely careful when it comes to having sex, and yet my period is missing. There are no signs of being pregnant, I mean NONE! There was a couple of days when I was feeling nauseous, but I've become picky at what I eat at college, and didn't have enough money to complete grocery shopping. So I'm wondering if it was my eating habit that changed, and then I was bombed with tests [and still am], but I try to stay calm. Maybe I'm stressed and not realizing it. It's already bad enough my period is irregular.

i was supposed to get my period last week and I did, sort of..very little blood for maybe a day and a half but that was it. i had all the symptoms of having a period, terrible cramps etc. i'm worried i might be pregnant..i do have sex, i'm on birth control but i'm also taking a variety of medication for irritable bowel syndrome so i dont know if that could lower the effectiveness of my pill, or if ibs is causing my period to change? this is the first time i've ever had an irregular period and i'm 23, so i'm a little freaked out.

Oh thank GOD tons of people are having this problem, There was one post that said It might be what Im eating. And Like her, I'v been eating mostly junky food due to the lack of shopping around my home. Like mostly everyone here, I have never been Irregular before, the only time I was irregular was when I was 10 and I fist had my period. I haven't done a PT (pregnancy test) but I know I'm not since of the lack of any sex. xD I haven't been throwing up or having headaches or feeling drowsy or tired ( Which I believe are symptoms of pregnancy?) Maybe it's happening cause Im stress, along with everyone posting here, since it is a very frightening experience

I turn 41 in June. I have a 16 month old baby boy. My husband and I have been discussing who is getting fixed. We might want a 2nd child, so hoped he'd do it as it has a higher probability of being reversable for him, and is less invasive.
I was due Saturday April 11th. Started having cramps maybe over the weekend. I've been late before in my youth prior to going on contraceptive pills. Since having my son, haven't been on the pill.
We haven't had unprotected sex, but we did do some things that have an infinitesimal possibility of, uhm, allow sperm to get near the vaginal opening. I.E., if he has any "smart sperm", then it's possible some of them found the right way in.
But I don't really have the same feeling of being pregnant.
Symptoms: some nausea, cramping, no bleeding, headaches. Also, last night, my right hand experienced water retention!
Other factors: almost 41, between 200 and 210 pounds but just shy of 5 feet. I don't eat enough fruit or vegetables. I sometimes go on junk food binges. And I've recently been a little stressed by work and by things friends and acquaintances are going through. :-P
I've done a little research. So far, the possibilities include:
1. pregnancy
2. endometriosis (yikes)
3. menopause
4. PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which someone else posted they had, and makes alot of sense for my symptoms.
5. plain old fashioned stress
Of course, there are more possibilities, but that's what I've found so far.
Was going to take a home pregnancy test last night, but didn't realize I'd run out of them. :-P I like to have some on hand along with medication for yeast infections, or other things that you really don't want to have to wait to go to the store for, lol.
Anyway, I will get tested tonight, after I pick some up at the store. Will let you know.
We really aren't ready for a 2nd child. We need 2 incomes... I have to work. My son is at daycare during the day. I don't think we could afford having 2 children in daycare. And with the sleep deprivation from just our current son... I'd really rather become a stay-at-home-mom if we're having a 2nd child, so I can keep up with taking care of both of them.
Can't decide how I feel about this. I didn't really want to do another pregnancy, another possible bout of gestational diabetes, and then another c-section. [At least there wouldn't be 2 days of failed labor-induction this time around, lol!]
However, if I could somehow exist w/o sleep, or if I could financially handle being a stay-at-home Mom, I think I might enjoy having a 2nd child. Not sure my husband could handle it, lol.
Man, maybe I shouldn't have given away my son's clothes/toys that he can no longer use, lol. 'Course, could be a girl. Not sure I care if a baby girl is wearing alot of boy-colors. I could mitigate it with pink ribbons in her hair, lol.
I'm on zoloft and xanax for my OCD. I was on zoloft when pregnant with my son, and when breastfeeding him. Both doc's thought it was a good idea... an acceptable risk. Xanax isn't on the acceptable risk list, and hoping, if I am pregnant, that the Xanax and the occasional drink and lack of sleep haven't hurt the embryo, if there is an embryo.
Funny thing is, when I got pregnant, I had some breakthrough bleeding at the exact time I was due for a period, along with cramping. I was bummed out 'cause I thought that meant we hadn't managed to get pregnant yet, and my husband told me, "well, you'll have to figure out when you ovulate". I really hadn't wanted to get that technical about it. But the "period" didn't feel right, took an HPT, didn't believe the first one, took a 2nd one, and had 2 positives, lol. And a son 9 months later. Go figure. I guess pregnancy symptoms can change between pregnancies.
Bleah. Sorry, I'm majorly rambling. :-P

I have the same problem - I have been having this issue for years - I finally went to a specialist and I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome, my hormone levels were completely out of whack.
PCOS is some what like diabetes - in order to control it you have to start eating healthy.
I am 32 years old and I was told when I was diagnosed that I would have trouble conceiving children because my ovaries were not releasing the egg. The doctor put me on Metformin (a drug for Diabetes) and I was pregnant within 2 months. (I was thrilled) but for anyone who does not want to get pregnant be very careful if they put you on metformin.
Good luck to all of you.
